Trouble with Import Player

this is posted on the behalf of alan05, who is having trouble copying captains from ST RPG to ST Elite RPG.

alan is using v3.9.5 of both apps on a rooted Nook color running Cyanogenmod. After clicking copy, the new captain does not show up in Elite, nor does the app time out (application not responding).

While our team keeps working on trying to figure out the problem from a distance (we don't have a nook, cyanogenmod, etc) I thought we'd reach out to community to see if anyone has any suggestions. I have shared the link to this post with alan05, so he should be able to see your responses.

Let me preface this by saying that I have nothing useful to say or add to help out, but I feel the irresisitable need to blather anyway.

Ok, so he is having trouble importing his character, I was confused at first.

I read the thread title and at first thought "Woah! You can import yourself into the game now, like in the Tron movies? Wicked!"

Then, realizing through a haze of sleep-deprived delirium, my small-child-addled brain thought it might be a typo, that fallen was having Trouble with an Important Player like alchie or slayernz. I swear, the thoughts that go through your head first thing in the morning...

Anyone using a nook to report?

I couldn't help but Exalt TP over his very helpful thought pattern. As non-useful as it was.

I only know of one person who has a Nook, and she only uses it to play angry birds ... what a waste. By the time I convince her (a) to install something different (yes, there ARE other things to do in the Android universe than fling fat birds into building material), test, lather, rinse, repeat, you'll probably already have answers to your question.

As Cory's found in the past, people who install Free on Android market and purchase Elite on Amazon are out of luck when it comes to migration, but you're already well beyond that point. Since it's a rooted device, have you tried getting the guy to copy and email the player files over to you so you can try doing an import. It'd be interesting to see if it is the player files that are causing the problem or if it is the device.

Yes, Amazon and Cory Trese have different "private keys" so the two types of applications cannot communicate over the channel that Import Captain uses.
