If I have power field 1 selected and attempt to move my engineer power field 1 does its graphic and the engineer doesn't move.
This is on an empty square.
Is this correct? I thought you had to select someone to use this.
I don't use this buff very often, so I am surprised its selected at all.
I'm not discounting clumsy fingers for selecting it, its the results that's the issue

Can they do it on an empty square?
That's the situation

I think that he is confused by the Talent name. The name could imply that the Power Field is an Area buff.

I don't know how to take a pic of an effect happening.
Let me see if I can describe it
Power field 1
If its launched on an empty square, should their be an effect
If its an area effect, and nobody is in the area, should their be an effect?
If I have power field1 selected by mistake, and I select an empty square to move to, will this trigger power effect 1 and will I see the effect graphic on that empty square.
Hope this helps

Buffs or AoE attacks will only activate if you tap on Templars/Alien. You can move without using something on an empty space, with the exception of Overwatch.

Thanks and that's what I thought, so I will call this a problem as this is a repeated occurance.
It happens when I click on a square to move to. I will see the effect. Then look and I notice power field 1 is selected.
If I don't deselect it, it happens again.

Any clues for us about how you are getting it to happen or what OS / device / version / map you are on?

Here is what Power Field should look like on a normal computer. You will see that it states "Click on a nearby Templar" I have tried for a while, but have not been able to get it to target ground. Only other Templars.

anvil - if you have Power Field selected, you can tap on another Templar. If you tap on the ground, you get the first part of the "want to move here" confirmation sequence. That is not a Power Field, that is the move confirm animation. Try the same thing without Power Field selected. You'll see the same small animation appear and then go away.

Sorry for the confusion.
0.0.9 Galaxy S4 5.0.1 Multiple maps This is a 0.0.9 issue.
I do understand how to use power field.
Lets say the effect when power field is used properly, it is a round puff of blue smoke.
Occasionally, when I attempt to move someone, when I click or double click on an empty square I get no movement. I get a round puff of blue smoke. If I try again I get the same thing and appropriate deductions are made from AP.
I then look and see that power field is selected.
If I deselect power field I then i can double click on an empty square and move.
I do not know how to take a picture of an effect.
Hope this helps.

anvil - ok. Spent 15 minutes earlier trying to reproduce this and all I could get was the movement animation. Is it only with PF? Anyone else seeing this?

Yes its only with PF and 0.0.9. I have not seenit since but will keep a watch for it.
I happened twice on the map where you destroy the temple after you start searching for the detonator.

We will keep our eyes out and start a hunt for it if more reports come in!
