In TA, you always got a good briefing before going into a map. it helped you determine what team you wanted to bring in (fast and stealthy or slow and heavy). Can we get a briefing option in the HQ before clicking on "deploy". Where it makes sense, provide a map. for things like going onto the Xeno ship, you might not have a map because it is unknown territory/layout. Having that stated as such would add to the idea that you're going way out of the safe zone

I like it! I do miss however, the ability to handpicked who comes with you. It would also help me keep my main squad' s XP more or less even.

Thanks for the feedback, we're focusing on the graphical intros to levels.

The game is picking your squad so no need to worry about trying to balance XP.
This way it give everyone an even experience, and you don't have to do math. Fun!

But if you want to use a particular squad because you think it would be more effective than the "recommended" squad, then shouldn't you be able to? I mean, if you've got a Hydra fetish and really feel compelled to bring the ole Torch boy with you every map (more as a mascot than anything really useful), then surely you should be able to? Are you saying Templar Command has more control about your deployment than you as the Knight Captain?

I mean, if you've got a Hydra fetish and really feel compelled to bring the ole Torch boy with you every map (more as a mascot than anything really useful), then surely you should be able to? Are you saying Templar Command has more control about your deployment than you as the Knight Captain? Exactly -- you should have the ability to build the most effective squad you can. When the mission explicitly calls for a Hydra, the game deploys your best Hydra. And when you deploy a Hydra, you have your choice of any of your Hydra or even a brand new one! Overall, you ask a great setting question -- what is the authority, or if Templar Command has any influence at all, in deployment! And they don't! We will be telling a dramatic story about the Templar, about the Captain and about the Quadrant she finds herself in. That story is what will drive the deployments -- the size of the initial drop ship, who was at the bridge when it finally fell, where in the ship the Scout training barracks are when the Xeno boarding part lands.--- But by that same token, you can see (even in the early alpha levels) and absolute dedication to player choice, strategy and even unit to unit tactics. We're limiting starting deployment numbers to those immediately exceeded on the first TP, ensuring that levels where appropriate squad allocation is balanced between story, logic, balance with an overwhelming focus on player choice and control.
