Don't know if this has been reported yet, didn't see a thread about grenades, but I noticed a difference in the area of effect for the captains grenades. Here a two screen shots,

Actually I did notice that - but it completely didn't compute. I knew the AoE for the grenade was the full 9 squares when using it (although in reality, I've never actually noticed it hitting outside of the cross) ...
Maybe the captain's AoE is wrong and it should be the cross (at least initially).
As a wish, I wish you could throw a grenade on any square and have an AOE. That means if you don't have LOS with a Xeno, or just don't have the range to hit the Xeno directly, you can still rely on splash damage to hit the Xeno.
ALSO - if that's the case, splash damage should also affect you and your squad. Thaat is, if you have any knight within the blast radius, they need to save vs damage just like the Xenos.

I really like these suggestions. Letting the player decide which square to place the grenade on is great and just makes sense. I also think that splash damage should affect templars. It feels funny throwing one next to another templar and watch it shred all the xenos while the templar just stands there.

Allowing ground placing the grenade makes the game really, really hard. Like, almost impossible. I tried it, was so miserable I cannot imagine unleashing that, even on the alpha team.
As for friendly fire and splash damage -- that's the sacred domain of the Hydra =)
