I know you are working on this, but another example. Fall of Stratos I had decided to try the defensive and let the words come to me. My Neptune arrived at this spot w/ ~50%+ heat. She has been there for 3 turns. Her only action has been OW + I just buffed with full vent 1(which doesn't work). You can see she is not good in a stand-up defense due to heat. She is very active with OW, firing 3-4 times each turn. By the time this is over, she will be pretty damaged. On the offensive, she is not much better, a few shots and she is so slow recovering as to be pretty useless. For such an expensive item, it puts her in the use once, throw away category. Perhaps if vent1 buff worked, she might be OK with heat as it is. i.imgur.com/DPluRgK.png

Looks pretty awesome, nice screenshot. Firing 3-4 times on OW is definitely going to put the Heat up, but it sounds like you're killing!

Boom! My Neptunes run hot too, but they regularly turn in 4.0 Kills Per Turn.

I've found that just a few points in willpower pays dividends for classes that tend to run hot.

I've found that just a few points in willpower pays dividends for classes that tend to run hot. So, so true. Heat doesn't reduce accuracy or cause any reduction in defense. The next update fixes Max Heat gear and Buffs, which will make the balance of max heat, willpower more interesting.

Cory TreseWhat is the damage reduction for overheating per point in Willpower?

Per Turn, overheated Templars could suffer a maximum of 12 Damage.
Each point of Willpower provides 1 point of "Armor" against Heat damage.
The application of this protection is consistent with physical damage.
At maximum Willpower, it is possible to block all damage around 80% of the time.

For my Engineers, I put all points into Willpower. My highest level one has 10 points and no matter how hot he gets, I almost always never suffer damage.

For my Engineers, I put all points into Willpower. My highest level one has 10 points and no matter how hot he gets, I almost always never suffer damage. That is possible, but highly heated Templars will be at extreme risk of high levels of damage from Fire, which is NOT soaked with Willpower.

That does make sense Cory Trese. Luckily my Templars have not felt a need to firewalk yet to test their bravery or manhood

Along these lines, Cory Trese... I ran a Scout all the way down to trigger the detonation sequence in that one long level (After gathering the artifacts...) This Scout ended up at max heat on the way back, so I wanted to rest her to get some redux on the amount of heat she had accrued. Not firing weapons, or moving more than one or two squares at a time, she maintained her max heat gauge, without seeing any redux whatsoever. Wanted to report this in case it was a bug... Can you go OVER max overheat?

En1gma - yes, while there is a visual cap, the actual heat can go up up up.

Good to know! Is there anything on the plans for adding perhaps a third/fourth color to the bar? If I had never asked I would never have figured that out
