DAMNIT GOTH!
There I go, trying out the full military crew, covertly hoping nobody would mess it up, and look what happens!
In all seriousness, I haven't ever tried the Critical Strike tech, but it always DID look too good to be true...

Ironically I'm unlocking the tree to that tech in my current game to make a killer torp cruiser that's easy on fuel.

Am I the only one who never uses Zenrin? Are the morale bonuses worth it? I rarely get invaded in any of my games, my ships seldom get destroyed, and any loss of morale by over pop or spice or random anomalies is easily recoverable... I just don't get them honestly.
The main reason I would consider using them would be their invasion transport, but is that enough for anyone to use them?
I'm not knocking them, mind you. I just don't think their resistance to morale loss is that useful... Their building is cool, sure, and I'm sure their transport is amazing once you get to it and upgrade it enough...
Maybe it's just me.

Depends a lot on your play style. Many people have major issues with keeping Morale average above 6, and for them the Zenrin suits their playstyle very well.

Fair enough. I guess I'm a bigger fan of direct bonuses that I can make the most of, like +2 CP or RP from Thulun, or SS Getting +5 EXP for their ships. I could certainly see why some would appreciate the morale bonuses though.
