I dunno if I remember this correctly but couldn't we setup waypoints so that we could get from point x to y using a vector that we determine? I know if we click on an end point it will set the destination. And if we click that again it says "Waypoint has been removed" (or similar). But I don't see how to setup an actual waypoint.
Related: I'd like to be able to setup a ship to patrol back and forth between planets rather than just sitting in one place all the time. Can we do that in 4x? I see people using the word "patrolling" once in a while but I don't see how to set this up in the screen.
Am I missing some documentation titled "All you ever wanted to know about piloting a starship"?
Thanks!

just set the destination and a waypoint copy is also created. movement is automatic, or on request with the auto-move button.
you can cancel waypoints as easily as you make them, just tap the tile. Once to cancel, twice to create.

I think what Captain Starbuck was asking was if there was a way to do intermediate waypoints on the way to the clicked destination. It this is in the game I havent found it

adding new waypoints would allow us to create patrol route throught few waypoints - somethink like go up to xeno zone, then patrol left side, then come back to refuel

Ah -- no, I'm afraid that was a miss in the ST 4X saved game format.
Next 4X game will correct that and many other mistakes.
I work every day to keep TB alive long enough to redeem our 4X dreams.

Well, I just started playing 4x recently even though I've had it awile. Not sure what mistakes you're referring to. Some more randomness maybe in starting locations on the maps, or choosing which enemies to face. But its a great game and quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but just some thoughts on this: Have you looked at following dwarven forge's lead and taking donations or having a patreon page? Or possibly a zazzle store for merchandise? Might not be a lot, but then again, it might be. And the nice thing about zazzle (or its competition) is that you don't need to maintain stock or make any investment. It's all on-demand. The downside is for a $19 coffee cup you get $5 or $6 and they keep the rest. Still, I know they have helped many small artists and at least one other game I play. For years similar on demand T-shirt vendors were the only funding for early webcomics. I'd totally wear a Trese Bros' T-shirt. And if you go patreon then you can offer things that are free to you, like for a $1/month participation in voting on priority of new features. I've seen that work for others.

Let me just say that the Patreon is one of the best investments I've made yet, just for the Art Stream alone... Cant wait to see Tamilin's finished artwork, fallen! Same here! I really like how it is shaping up I have been investigating Twitch streaming for doing art, and seeing how it holds up on my computer for performance. Starting to think about offering live-streaming access to Patreons whenever I sit down on new & fun artwork.

But,when I get home I'm totally getting in on that action. Thanks for the pointers to the right place! It's like a joke I once told a friend about instant gratification being too slow for her and what she needed was pre-emptive gratification. Lol.
