I know similar questions have been asked before, but I want to be absolutely sure before I do a factory reset on my device. My Nexus7 may need a factory reset, running Android 5.1.1 not rooted. I have the backup and automatic restore options enabled. If I do a factory reset and restore all of my apps and data will my Heroes saved games also be restored?
I know about the option to use helium. But it is not clear to me whether or not Androids restore feature will work.
Thanks much.

No, the Android restore feature will not work. It is important that you use some other backup service such as Helium, or root your device and use Titanium Backup etc. re: anrdaemon - why so aggressive? just be nice?

I'm nice. Why asking honest questions considered an aggression nowadays? What's next? Looking in the wrong direction would be considered a death threat?

Finally took the time to do the Helium backup... Once I figured it out it was easy and well worth the time. I've already lost all my TB data twice, now it won't happen again.

Helium Backup is amazing and I am happy to be a vocal advocate! markc, check out the other thread and get the software installed. Note though, sometimes it doesn't pair up properly with the PC (an important step for some reason). I found that by installing the Chrome version of the Helium desktop app, it recognized the phone and all was well in the world.

I knew that using Helium would work. Regarding the Android backup & restore functionality I had gathered that manually restoring your apps would result in losing ones saved games. But it was not obvious to me if allowing Android to restore all of your apps and data would work or not. I could interpret past threads either way on that one. MarkC

MarkC If by "manually restoring" you did mean "manually reinstalling without using a backup", then, of course, there will be none of your saved games in first place. The very point of using a backup tool is to restore your device to the state it had at the moment the backup was made.
