When I aborted an upgrade, that was in queue but had not started, I never got my credits back.
This is a bug, if it is at 0% then nothing has been done, especially if I cliked it 5 seconds ago, and then realised i do not have the money for an alternate, more important upgrade. I effectivly just lost money for no outcome.
At the very least a warning to tell me which resources will be lost and unrecoverable.

If you abort before ending the turn you get you $ back. later you don't. I always thought of this as the resources having been committed.

If you abort before ending the turn you get you $ back. later you don't. I always thought of this as the resources having been committed. Funny, while I always seem to get a refund for aborting new construction projects, I don't remember ever getting any refund for aborting an upgrade (e.g, Starport 3 to Starport 4), even in the same turn it was initiated. Maybe I just wasn't watching closely enough. Now, when I have to stop work on an upgrade so I can build something else, I just shove it down the queue to keep from wasting the funds. I've always assumed that the no refund on upgrades rule was due to the problem keeping track of how much to refund. Determining the refund amount for a new construction job is easy (full retail price), whereas what you pay for the same upgrade is discounted, and varies depending on what you're upgrading from. What you spent on the upgrade probably isn't stored in the save game file.

Geez, my lunch, I didn't read the OP closely enough. I was thinking of new construction, not upgrades.

Now I know about upgrades, I'll have to be much more careful. But, I wish I new it before I cancelled it, hence this request, it is intended to help new players.
