I just love playing merchants and piling up the credits. Trading and making profit is so much more fun than it probably should be.

I love pirating the most, but I always end up being crashed by a ramming pirate.

Legally bounty hunting and having high rep with all the factions. I like feeling that they all respect me and want to come to me with all their hard cases. Criminals fear me.

Overcoming a xeno in single combat in a feat of ultimate badassery...
Rising through the ranks of your chosen faction is pretty satisfying as well. Especially noticing the discounts...

I'd say that the most satisfying thing has to be encountering a xeno ship and laughing as your torpedoes tear it to pieces as it flounders helplessly in the Void. Then, sweeping in and selling it's carcass for a quarter of a million credits.

I definitely enjoy jamming the buttons at the end of a combat against a Pirate or enemy BH that I'm totally going to loot and burn.

Laughing maniacally as my little smuggler blasts off and outruns any and every human ship sent to bring it down.
Laughing maniacally as my Steel Song BHs run aboard a Xeno ship and pound out Xeno-colored goo with only 25 or so men. XD
Laughing maniacally when my traders score a ridiculous amount of money on a nearby shortage.

I like the randomness of it.
No game is ever the same. You can play the same class and faction each time if you want to, but you never know what's going to happen from one moment to the next.
That makes Star Traders priceless.
