I'm not sure if the aliens already do this (as I've never seen them do it), but it would be really cool if the Xenos would try kill each other as much as they try kill me. Just a thought.

The Xeno, due to their in-universe origins, will not actively fight each other. However, they do compete for resources, such as planets, territory, and anomalies. They can starve each other by blocking each other's expansion, but they won't attack each other.

They can starve each other by blocking each other's expansion, but they won't attack each other. But, to the Xenos, we're just another species of alien (albeit a seriously xenocidal one). So, why not add an additional layer of politics, wherein the Xenos will occasionally wage war on eachother, occasionally cooperate in a joint invasion of my planets, etc.? That would add a whole other layer of difficulty to the game.

Because in the lore, the Xeno races were created by the Alfaan, a race of energy beings who live in the Hyperwarp, as their warriors and conquerers. All Xeno species in the games are their creation.
