I don't know if the suggestion is clear, but when I think of fighters and carriers I think of very small craft supported by much larger ships. I'm not sure how fighters are conceptualized of in the game, maybe they are truly just a smaller capital ship, or maybe what we see represents a number of smaller ships. Anyways changing their in-game icon to a cluster of small fighter ships would give very cool variety to the game map.

It would be an interesting concept, if the game had support for "number of creatures" per tile, like the good ol' Master of Magic had. Unfortunately, magical resurrection of destroyed fighters doesn't feel convincing to me.

Yeah I wasn't necessarily thinking that you would have to eliminate fighters to show a damaged squadron or recreate them to show healing. They could always just stay a group of 5. The current ships don't graphically show damage.

I agree with lurker, an icon showing more than one fighter could add visual interest to the game AND make it easier to discern fighter from other ships on the map.
Multi-fighter icons would need to differentiate between standard fighter and assault fighters. Here are two ways that might be done:
1) By using different formations. 2) By featuring a relatively large version of the fighter in the foreground and smaller versions in the background. The foreground fighter would be smaller than the current ship icons but still recognizable. The background fighters would be much smaller and might by partially obscured by the foreground fighter.
Not sure how this aligns with lore. Not seeing this as high priority, but would be nice.

I might remember something awhile back saying that these aren't your standard 2-person fighter craft, that they're much larger. This being said, it would make sense visually if the icon for the fighter was a measure smaller than the Carriers. It has always seemed strange to me that a massive Battlecruiser was visually the same size as a Fighter, or even a standard Cruiser...

It's a visual representation, just for representation of the fleet.
If you make the fighters a lot smaller, they are hard to see. If you make the Carriers much larger, they block nearby ships.
Maybe in ST 4X 2 we'll go full 3D and we can make all the ships to scale =)

I'm quickly running out of friends to tell! (In a good way, don't you worry!) Time to join a new club, get some more friends Also great to update reviews! We've got some trolls on Heroes of Steel Elite who have decided to update their 1-star reviews every time someone else leaves a review so they are the newest. Not sure what we ever did to these people, but they evidently don't like Heroes!

LOL, persistent little trolls aren't they. Unfortunate people like that can have such an outsized impact on game performance. I guess Google depends on the fans of the game to counter them. Anything for eyeballs

Updated mine, I'll keep an eye on it... I don't know why someone would be so persistent.

Cory Trese does marking it unhelpful or spam do anything?

Cory Trese does marking it unhelpful or spam do anything? En1gma - yes, those thumbs up and thumbs down buttons are really valuable. Up-vote reviews you find helpful and fair, and down vote those that you don't. Only mark something as spam if it is spammy.

The past few post show why I hate the internet. You get too many people that cause trouble and there's no consequences to their actions. There should be a time limit on how often you can update or change your reviews. Google themselves should do something to protect Devs and their own market place from A-holes like that.
