I am holding off on the v4.0 shift until I can finish testing some new features that add major content. For example, new buttons and contract types l=)

'Kay - everyone stop bugging Cory with bugs and stuff ... faster he can work on these things, the faster we can have 4.0 <grin>

The correct call to action is "Go buy Star Traders, Cyber Knights as many times as you can."

I think you typed the wrong version number. The version on the APK is 3.9.29 but the market listing says 3.9.31 (like your first post), and the Market app keeps telling me to update to 3.9.31 ("Update available") but when I select it, the only options are "Open" and "Uninstall" (since I already have 3.9.29).
I am noticing that Records are not getting generated for me when I do surveillance with a full cargo hold & databank -- did this get broken again? I remember posting about this many releases ago, and I remember you fixed it in the next release, but that was a while back.

Nope -- it is only v0.3.29 on both Amazon and Android Market.
There is no edition 3.9.31 in my code storage system and Google does not list it.
The only edition me, Google or Amazon is distributing is:
Star Traders RPG Elite 3.9.29 Games: Arcade & Action
I don't actually type the number into anything it is all generated automatically.

That's weird -- in the Android Market on my phone, it shows ST-RPG Elite latest version as v3.9.31 - 10/7/2011 (just like your OP) under "WHAT'S NEW" in the listing -- the bottom of "DESCRIPTION" has the correct version listed. I figured the "WHAT'S NEW" version is a typo, and that it should say 3.9.29.
The version in your OP is not consistent with the version in the thread title either.
Not sure about why "My apps" says there's an update available, when there's not.
How about that Record gen problem, is it broken again or just me? I reproduce it with: (1) full cargo hold, (2) databank, (3) surveillance in spy battle -> no records (ever).

Records by design -- cargo space is required to stage and prepare the records for storage.
That's the fix I added after careful testing!

Hi, about the records, I see it does work to generate the records if I clear some space first. I preferred the way you had fixed it before -- it allowed me to concentrate all my cargo space on luxuries & weapons, and still generate 25 records in the databank while spying. But it's your call -- I can see the reasoning for just making databank work like the other water-tank-like upgrades, since records have always taken up cargo space without databank.
I noticed I need to clear 2 space to make it work, probably because of my ship upgrades (Databank, Leviathan System, Water Fuel Tank, Spybank, Predator Tracking). Can you clarify the requirements on extra space for each water-tank-like upgrade and combination of them? Should it require one extra space per such upgrade, like I am seeing?
I notice record generation seems to always see my cargo hold as having 1 less space than it should, and that might be related. This is consistent across all my ships, regardless of upgrades -- I can't generate records to fill my hold completely, it always stops with one space left, and will never generate records when there's just one space available. So there might just be a bug related specifically to record generation / available cargo space calculation in general.
Now when I clear two space in the hold, I can generate up to 25 records, and then it stops generating records with two space left in the hold. It just seems wrong to me, but if that's the intended behavior, then I'll leave 2 space open in my hold when I want to generate records.

I put this report into the bug queue for investigation.
You mention an "old way" but the Subversion repository says that it hasn't changed except the fix for the central defect.
Issue ST50-153
Look for an update before the 5.0 series

1. svn purge * 2. rebuild from ground up!
-abs (who can't really express how happy he is not to be a coder, bug-hunting blows)
</tongue-in-cheek>
