Eques Tenebris earned weirdly but has Vae Victus stats

I was playing on Crazy and stumbled into the Captain's home planet and an award unlock message came up that said I unlocked the Birthright Award. The Equis Tenebris was still locked though, so I made a new Impossible difficulty captain to go straight to the home planet to get the award on the right difficulty.
It worked and I was able to access Equis Tenebris which, according to the 'new captain' ship selection screen, had 11 hull and 4 torpedos, but when I brought it into a new game, it had 12 hull and 6 torps just like the Vae Victus. It was still blue and had the Equis Tenebris name, though.

Edit: this all happened several days ago and the device used is Kindle Fire 3rd gen.
