Just seeing yours I can tell where the difference is. More points in shielding. Does armor soak radiation? Most of my ships are evasion/armor vs durability/hull. I know evasion is not a WK statistic What I've read is that armor does not soak radiation, shields defend for that.

Fourth Horseman: wascalwywabbit is right about about Armor & Shields, and much of the damage that Transports incur during Planetary Invasion is from Radiation. Also, Evasion is no help whatsoever during Planetary Invasion, so when allocating Ship Material points in your Invasion Transports designs, I'd suggest putting 1 to 3 points into Sensors, whatever you think you need into Durability, and all remaining points (certainly not less than 10) into Shields. If necessary, shift points from Durability to Shields. IMO, an IT with more than two or three hundred Hull Points is a waste: Unless you plan to park it in Green Space for a very long time to complete repairs, you're not going to let it take nearly that much damage. But that's just me.... There's a lot of great info in the Planetary Invasion Discussion Thread. Pay particular attention to Cory Trese's posts. In addition, this thread will shed light on why you want at least one point in Sensors: Ship Sensor Stat

Almost same defense rating, but my new invasions take more than half less the damage now. Let the extermination begin and show the xeno that humans are the an apex predator.

Not so much a skilled leader as other fans of this game helping each other out. Most of the time I am turning a bit of profit while evicting the xeno from planets. I have the xeno occupied as I am colonizing elsewhere. Once again , they can't defeat my gun bunnies. Have not lost a single ship, yet. I might lose one thus invasion. High defense and radiation.
