We de..ded to pro.eed to th. s...ace of G.lant.. Cross as requested by the prince. We deployed outside the gates and immediately Templar Scout Idris detected xeno to the north. Aiming to recapture the fortifications, we set off at a steady pace until we encountered a brood of scitterings and hunters that burst out of the sand seeking our throats. Soldiers Azrael and Corbulo locked ranks and the deadly chatter of leviathan rifles filled the air, stopping the xeno dead and allowing Scouts Idris and Marius to form a spearhead on me to push through out of the trench onto a plateau, slaying scitterings left and right. As we formed up for a quick recovery stop to let our suits cool down, they struck. Out of nowhere hordes of fresh xeno erupted from the sand, and this time the hulking bulk of carapace as ensured they would not be easily turned from our path. Despite the heat of our suits starting to scorch us, we opened up once more, with Azreal and Corbulo once more proving their worth, firing continually despite deep rents caused by hunter claws. It was then that Marius spotted yet more xeno charging from the south. Recalling his lineage, he swiftly fell back to cover us in a rearguard action, needle rifle booming as he desperately tried to keep them at bay. No one saw the end of his final sacrifice, but we heard the xeno rush forward once more and gritted our teeth for the onslaught. Sweat beaded our brows as we fought as one, slowly step by step advancing on the stairs back into the trench. Templar Corbulo fell to a carapace clad xeno that pinned him down under its own armoured shell and ripped apart his leviathan suit. With the indomitable rage of 100 generations of Templar Knights flowing through my veins, I looked across to Azreal and Idris and nodded once. "DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR" the cry rang out as I lifted my blade and charged straight into the xeno horde----/:::://-//--////-/:;;//-/-
