In his Starting out thread, one of Fourth Horseman's questions is "What should I do with the quality 7 planets?" So I'm starting a thread where everyone is encouraged to post examples of Low Quality systems that not only aren't a burden on the Empire, but turn a handsome profit as well. First up are the 10 Low Q systems I colonized in the game I most recently completed (Rinze 100x100, 90 world map). All these screen shots were taken in 17.43AE with a Double Alliance in place. The total profit for these 10, some would say worthless, systems for that one turn was $3139 credits! Because of the size of the screen shots, I'll break them into three posts to keep the lengths reasonable. I'm presenting these in the order that they were colonized (oldest first) Even with no Mineral or TP bonus, the Cadar colony on Namex turns a pretty hefty profit, with only 5 Quality and 11 Minerals!

Nicely done elwoodps. Seems like with low quality systems, one has to choose Exchange or Palace (not both). Seems like you mostly choose Exchange, presumably for increase TP and $. Why a Palace on that one system?

Why a Palace on that one system? Just an oversight. There actually were Palaces on many of them originally (for the RP), but after completing all the research I'm interested in, I scrapped most of the Palaces in the empire to cut costs. Guess I just missed that one. Exchanges are moneymakers.
