Okay, so I picked up Templar Battleforce the other day. Now I'll admit I was unsure whether this was a good move on my part. Not unsure about the game itself, but whether I would like it or not.
You see, I just couldn't get into Templar Assault no matter how much I tried, and I'm not a big fan of mechs. Never have been. When I think of squad based sci fi, I think Halo not Gundam. Humans not machines (the design feature helps by letting me put a face to the Templar instead of just a visored helmet). And I'll admit the cost made me hesitate. If I still didn't like it after playing it...money wasted.
I read through the Battleforce forum and checked out the videos, took a deep breath and jumped in.
I've played off and on since I got it, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I'm not very far into it. I keep starting over. Playing through the tutorial, trying different loadouts, trying different approaches. You know just trying to get an understanding of the game. And this game is deep, I mean Marianas Trench deep. So many options. So many choices. But that's good. It keeps it fresh and replayable.
As far as the mechs...it doesn't feel like machines to me. Just soldiers doing their duty. It would be nice to have more faces for your Templars though...

We're working on more content (faces, skins, monsters, talents, equipment, maps, artwork) all the time. You'll see all of those included in future updates at no additional cost with no IAP to buy.
One thing regarding trying different builds is to keep in mind you can "Respec" any Templar at any time, allowing you to reset Skills, Attributes and Talents.

Also, please help us out by leaving a five star review on the game. This will encourage us to make more faces =)

Really great feature for experimenting with the loadout.

Also, Chance, just so you now, you can respec your Templars for free. No longer do you have to restart to try some new build, just tap the little "respec" button on your Templar's page and you get all of your talent points and attribute points back. Makes it very easy to flip Templars around to new builds, and really allows you to experiment!

Thanks johndramey. Yeah I really like that respec button. I've tried different builds with my captain and scout already.
