I got a mission to an outpost and when I got there there was not planet on the display.
I could select the urban button
and continue on with the games.
Later I got a surplus rumor at the same place and again it was not displayed on the screen.
It is independent

What is not displayed? And where? Sounds like the device might be running out of memory or storage. Have you tried rebooting?

richard, what are the coordinates of the missing planet? Also, what version of the game are you playing, what version of OS, and what device? That will help for testing and finding. I'm pretty sure I've been to every planet on the map, including some that aren't recorded in the documented list of planets ... but there is always a big ball of something to land on when I get there

Nah, I still have no idea what we're talking about anyway.
Not all of the Orbital artwork shows a planet.

Silly me, I was away fishing and forgot to write down where the planet was that was missing.
I will try to find it.
It may be as Cory suggested, a device running out of memory or storage
for I have rebooted since then
