The engineer and palidan deploy with really special ordinance (turrets and medkits respectively) justifying the 600sp cost, but I feel the beserker is not worth it and should be changed to 500 like the hydra and Neptune

Thanks for the feedback. We will investigate the Ordnance balance to see if there is something missing there.

My point is the beserker costs too much.

The berserker seems to get a real advantage in gear though. But still it's true, I don't use them because of their cost to deploy. When I could wait and deploy one Berserker or two other fighters (I know that Berserker doesn't cost twice other ones, but give the time most levels take I can often get out a scout and soldier or one Berserker.

The berserker seems to get a real advantage in gear though. Yes, their gear is powerful. The problem with their gear is that it is just so expensive. You need to be at least in the mid twenties to afford both the top axe and decent armor or war gear. Paying 650 for a berserker that hits like a truck but will die if he misses his auto block just doesn't appeal to me. For me, the cost almost never justifies pulling one out unless I am in an endless sp situation.

I always pull them. The cost is definitely worth it, just judging from the scoring database we've built.

Total focus on maximizing Auto-Block and Auto-Counter percentages.
Secondary is Parry to generate clean misses that also get counter attacks.
To be totally clear -- we are going to go back and really look hard at this.
Do some soul searching about the cost and decide if it needs to be adjusted.
Just because I think it is balanced doesn't necessarily make it FUN for everyone.
So based on this thread Andrew and I will have a convo and look at the numbers again.

They are definitely a fun class to play and they are not weak by any means, but I guess I just think that they aren't any stronger than Neptune or Hydra to justify the cost.
Is there a balance issue you are worried about with using more than one of them at a time?
Thanks for keeping the discussion open on this.

I did play around with them a bit during the Alpha. Saw great potential in them. Love their grenade Talent. They are a challenge to play and I think that's where the fun will come for some players. Others will see them as too much and just pass on them until the second or third replay I think.
Are they needed to beat the game? No. Do they add a neat twist to play style? Yes. Do they require a bit of babying at first? Yes, but once they grow up, watch the F%^& out. Should you try them at least once? Again I say yes. Do electric sheep dream of androids? This one is still in debate.
Lot of yes answers there. They deserve a good look at including in your squad.
