Hey there, would be nice if you can improve the talent panel so that we can change the order of the talents like in Heroes of Steel. I often must scroll down for the talents i use. Gz

Yes, the ability to shove to the bottom all those excessive heat generating 2AP short term buffs that are only kinda useful during a multiple turn swarm would be nice.

Buffs are amazing, and only serve to give you big boosts for a small amount of Heat/AP. It's worth it to miss an attack to Buff, especially considering how many attacks per turn you get and how quickly Xeno die.

You are probably correct, but I haven't started doing Talent respecs to pump buffs past low levels and I do use a lot of them situationally, but mainly when I have spare AP.

You gotta know when to buff them and when to shoot them You never count your heat while sitting at the tac point...

Absolutely true from the purely mathematical standpoint -- all of the Buffs are actually worth more, statistically, than the AP spent on a straight attack of equal level. That's why the Buffs have max use counts for balance. Our metrics do show there is a small minority of users who ignore Buffs, but they do so only on lower difficulty levels.

Templar 1: "Here let me buff first." Templar 2: "Wait brother, you will lose an attack!" Templar 1: "Brother, look it gives attack and dodge bonuses that will help us cut down these vile xenos!" Templar 2: "Oh, that is nice brother, look at them fall...wait...Look! That foul xeno, the supercharged, irradiated, biopoison dripping, plasma clawed Siege Goliath, has 3 hit points left! Kill it quickly brother it is on top of me!" Templar 1: "Errrrrrr....." (Sounds of crunching armor and shrieking) No, it has never happened to me, not even in variations like surviving and dying to heat death, not at all... Given, right now, for me, spending a Talent point on +1 weak die accuracy from raising the buff vs. +1(2) strong raising the core attack Talent works. Of course, I do see a respec in my future at some point.

algesan - lol, everyone has their own strategy. I agree, if you leave Buffs at level 1, once you get into the game a bit ... don't use them! But, that's your strategy!

Actually, it is the game design. Early on in Ironman, much smarter to go with attack Talents, but would hurt later. Right now, on the last mission of Rubric 5, in another level or two, I'll be using the easy respec to start shifting points to buffs now that my Templars have higher stats and better gear. If it was like HoS, I'd have done it differently.

Engineers Force Field and Soldiers Calling shots and Rallying charge with Captains Confidence with a "Poison" scout Piercing the tougher xenos is my Brutal bread and butter. I just level buffs and leave standard attacks level one (except of course piercing shot which gets all the tps ). Love the endless choices but must admit, I probably spend more time on the Veterans screen than in battles lol
