fallen, Cory Trese, on the requisition tree every templar class has a unique icon or badge for thier talents and gear. Hydras have a flame, scout's - wings, engineer's a wrench, etc. That is except for the captain and paladin. Their icons are the same. Why is that?

I love the game and the overall look of the game, but I've had difficulties with the Req Tree. Given limited Trese Bros bandwidth, improving the look of the Req Tree may be a low priority, but here are my experiences and suggestions. On my Nexus 5, it's difficult to see the difference between many of the current icons. I kept getting lost when trying to navigate the Req Tree. I'd start exploring a branch by clicking an icon, then clicking the details button, then reading all the entries on the detail screen. BUT, when I clicked back to the tree, I'd forget the specific icon and branch I was on. I was Lost. It would help if the Req Tree highlighted the last visited icon. You already do this with the "View Req" button on unlocked Talents within the individual Templar menus, it'd be great if that function applied when returning to the Req Tree from a Node or Details screen. Even better, have the red ring stay rather than blink and disappear. (Admittedly, I've got old man eyes, but a lot of mid-core gamers have old man eyes, so it makes sense to design for us blind old men.) Until reading Chance's post above, I thought the Soldier/Captain/Hydra/Paladin icons were the same. I have to zoom a lot to tell them apart. The bottom element is the same for the Engineer/Scout/Soldier/Captain/Hydra/Neptune/Paladin/Berserk icons. It'd help if the uniform bottom element were removed from those icons and the unique top part was enlarged. Back to the OP, Captain's bars could be used for the Captain nodes, a Shield and Cross for the Paladin (images below). Captain's Bars: Shield and Cross:

tenbsmith - thanks for the feedback! We will keep working on improving. Highlighting last selected is a good idea. We're also working to remove the screen transition in that set of UIs, so you never visually leave the tree.

tenbsmith, I like your suggestion to enlarge the unique unit identifier. I also like the cross and shield for paladins. They're healers and that reminds me of a medics red cross. I like the idea of a sword and shield for the captain since they are never without a sword.

Chance, I'm concerned sword and shield might be too visually similar to cross and shield. I like the sword idea. Maybe a sword alone, at a 45 degree angle. fallen, glad you like the "highlight last selected" idea. That would solve the problem I'm having.

tenbsmith, I like the angled sword idea. Or maybe even crossed sword and pistol for those gunslingers like algesan.

Also like the cross and shield for Paladin. Think making them all unique as possible with larger icons would be a big help visually.

algesan but then the bladeslingers would want crossed swords...so crossed sword and pistol would be a fair compromise to both groups.

Works, or give blade line the crossed blades and pistol line the crossed pistols...
Of course, if one can dual wield pistols, the swords should have the same...
Realistically, maybe for TC (Templar Cadre), where you get to be 3-4 Templars leading FDF...

That could make for an interesting series of levels!

Scouting party of Templars assault place, find evidence of large attack. Templars with small group of FDF probe enemy forces. Templars spread out among mass FDF to hold the line (and expect the FDF to take heavy losses). Breakthrough counterattack to open hole (keep track of FDF losses?)(XP bonus for any survivors over X?) Scotch head of snake with FDF remnants in support.
