The "+5 Hypersonic Attack" bonus conferred by the Bounty Hunter Crew upgrade appears to be self-explanatory. But what's the difference between the Combat Crew 2's "+3 Attack", and the Military Crew's "+3 Any Attack?"

Good question. As I recall, hypersonic would be Torps-only.
I always assumed that the Combat Crew 2 +3 Attack bonus applied to all attacks, but one wonders if that's true given that the Military Crew attack bonus specifies "any attack."

Would there be space to specify Gun Attack in the applicable places? Might make it easier for new players to understand, just by adding one or two words...

It was removed at the request of users.

Hmmm... it'd be interesting to know why users requested this odd abbreviation, though that almost doesn't matter.
To those not on the inside, the current approach is confusing. I've played the game quite a bit and assumed 'attack' meant any attack. When ranged attack bonuses are explicitly labelled "hypersonic", it implies that gun attacks bonuses will also be explicitly labeled. Labeling it 'gun attack' would make it very clear to all.

I'll try to improve without earning any more negative reviews.

no need to improve on my account and I certainly don't want you to get negative reviews. I stated my position assertively and unambiguously in an effort to make it clear. I respect whatever decision you make.

I respect whatever decision you make. I mean, you're totally right. It's not as clear right now as it could be. The way it is displayed satisfied one particular request. That screenshot you posted shows so many issues that need to be addressed. I'm glad we had the conversation. We can do better here, it will just mean we have to figure out a fix. Your suggestion was on point, and I think getting the labels correct has to be part of the solution.
