riverjack - we are not planning a demo release at this time. We're focused on a single, premium app with no IAPs.

If you like RPGs with deep game mechanics, that require tactics, and you like Trese Bros games, then you'll like this game.
I've heard there are some nice play through videos out there, maybe someone could provide a link to one of them.
I wonder if adding a video to the Google Play/Apple/Steam page would help some people pull the trigger. Something that showed some of the action, but didn't give away spoilers.

We're focused on a single, premium app with no IAPs. fair enough. and i fully agree with the guy who said, if you like TB games ya would like this one. thats spot on. you guys run a much needed game house... please please make a damn online mmo! not some clash of clans crap.. somethin unique. anyhow as a phone gamer who has spent about $1000 bucks on The infinite black, i still wanna try the game before i spend $10 bucks... i dunno. take that into consideration i guess. back to heroes of steel :-)

I hear you riverjack, and imagine there are other potential customers who feel the same way.
If either the TBs or others could shed light on the rationale for not having a Demo, I'd be curious. I'd think that a free Demo providing a few missions might be a good way to draw in players like riverjack. If it was clearly titled and described as a Demo, not titled a free version, that would avoid some of the negative reviews received for the free version of HoS.

We may eventually release a demo version allowing you to play the first 3-4 levels, but it is not currently on our list.
Every deploy of any game requires a lot of time and energy, and needs to go to multiple markets (Amazon, Google Play, App Store) and and include finished integrations on every market, including IAPs for the demo version.
It is a lot of work.
It also signs up for updating those 3 new games in perpetuity.
We decided not to do a demo. We estimate that it saved us a month of time before the release, and a significant number of hours every week.
There are also other concerns, including the likelihood of getting a game featured or covered by the press, based on your model. We are currently very happy with the decision to focus on a single, premium app with no IAPs.

Playable demos are possibly good for the consumer, if it represents the full game well (not always the case), but terrible for the publisher/developers most of the time. All premium plus let's play videos is one type of really good compromise imo. Maybe the Trese trio could in game link to officially sanctioned let's plays of their games.
Free to play with minimal atrociousness like no hunting "whales" has potential that is currently tainted by bad industry practices, so is a no go for many devs atm until the abuses are sorted.
