Hello everyone, Being new, to this awesome game, I have a few question that I could not find the answer to so I hope you can help. Rumors, I have been playing the same bounty hunter character for a while, in elite normal level, and the rumors are always the same. The captain has lived 177yrs? Is it normal for the rumors not to change? Ships, The ships in every port are also the same. Small. Do the ships change based on the captains career pick and is it normal for the ships to be very similar in each port? If they are based on career pick then what career give access to the best ships? Officers, Is there a trick to getting officers signed on to your crew? Is this also based on career pick? And last but not least, how do you delete a captain? Thanks for your patients and dedication to this addictive game. P.S. my wife doesn't like the addictiveness very much...

Heyya Viciouswolf and welcome to the forum The time rumors last for varies depending on the difficulty level you play at, but all should expire after a period of time. Are you sure that the exact same rumors have persisted for decades? I know some planets change from one rumor type to another without having a gap. IE, they might have a shortage of crystals one visit, then the very next visit, it will be a surplus of weapons (or some other change). Ships ... look at the ships during rumors that the docks are booming. Also, look at more prosperous planets as they usually have more ships to sell than say an independent planet. Once you unlock the Clan Hero and Syndicate Hero awards, you get access to some pretty powerful ships. You do have to have at least one military rank in those particular factions, but you'll be really happy with the various Honor ships. Even without the award unlock, the Javat Cutter (Military ship) is a brilliant ship you can purchase. In all my time playing, I've never seen some of the cooler ships available in the yard - Royal class ships for example, are only found "out in the wild". In terms of officers, no there is no trick to getting them signed up ... if you can find them, you can recruit them. Your only limitation is that you can only have 3 officers signed up at a time. Where do you find the officers? Look out for rumors to help you find officers. There are a number of threads in the forum that say what rumors relate to which officer, but from the top of my head, you have: Political, Scout*, and Mechanic generally have an explicit "you can find one here". Military officers** are found with military surplus rumors Alien hunters* are found with Aliens on planets rumors Pilot is found when there is a surplus of Spice All of the officers can be found in the Palace, except those marked with * - found in Wild areas, and ** - found in military bases. Finally ... deleting a captain can be done from the main splash screen (title screen). You will see at the top of the page "Roster". From here you can see all the captains created (both dead and alive). "View" the specific captain and you will find a "Delete" option. Note Deleting is not undo-able, so be careful when deleting multiple captains Also, in the Roster screen, you will see where you can import pilots from Free. Finally ... it's funny, my wife has given up on me playing the game now. After the first 3 months she just shakes her head and watches some TV.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. Are all officers of a class (e.g. all political officers) as good as each other?
Does having more than 1 of the relevant bonus item in the hold give a larger bonus, e.g Vudka with a First Mate.
Thanks, Anders.

Hey Andersh, The officer skill level is determined when you recruit them, and although they do improve over time, they definitely don't improve at the rate of your level ups. Is there a major difference between a military officer that you signed up at level 1 vs a military officer on offer at level 50? Perhaps, yes, but he'll also cost a lot more than what you paid back in level 1. In all of the captains I've had, I think I've only replaced an officer once or twice - and haven't really noticed much of a difference. Others might say otherwise though. In terms of having more units of the relevant bonus items ... yes there is an increased bonus for more. There is another thread on this particular topic ... lemme find it for ya Yikes, that was like finding a friggin needle in a continent!
