I'm running OSX El Capitan, 10.11.1
No matter what I do, the game simply won't start up. I'm guessing it might have to do with the graphics card. It's that crappy NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB.
Would love a bit of guidance as to how to get this to run.
Here's my machine:

ceritus - can you provide any information as to what happens? Is there an error message? Do you have the latest NVidia Drivers? It looks like that video card supports GL 2.1, so you should be fine in that department.

Apologies for the late response - work has been killer lately. No error, just crashes to desktop moments after trying to start it up. There's a problem report, but it's huge - here's a link to it on my DropboxI did just download the very latest NVidia Drivers, but no dice.

There's a problem report, but it's huge - here's a link to it on my DropboxI did just download the very latest NVidia Drivers, but no dice. Sorry to hear about work, but happy holidays. Thanks for posting the crash report, we've taken this on our list. We're both on holiday travel at the moment, and away from our standard development rigs, so I am sorry to say we can't do much more to troubleshoot this until after Christmas. Our apologies about that. One question -- it looks like it is firewall related. The game pings our crash server when it starts up, and it looks like something is causing that to crash. Anything Firewall or Anti-virus related that might be blocking that?

No worries - it's the holidays after all, haha. Dealing with this in 2016 is no problem at all.
AFAIK there aren't any firewall issues. I'm running AVG Antivirus, Airport Express, and regular OSX Firewall. I've turned AVG and the Firewall off, and the game still won't launch. I've also added Star Traders to the whitelist, and no dice.
Thanks for your guys' help! Have a happy holiday!

Unfortunately, it must be crashing early enough in the Steam initialization that we aren't getting crash reports.
Do you get any "This Application Has Crashed" type pop-ups?

Nah, nothing other than the OSX Problem Report. I'm thinking I might be SOL, haha Very sorry that we haven't been able to be more help. With so little feedback from the system, it is hard to move forward. All we can say is that it looks like it is related to a anti-virus or firewall issue. Do you have the Steam overlay enabled on your Mac? It shouldn't cause crashes, but it might be nice to know. You could try uninstalling the game and trying again?
