Why can I map anomalies, and inhabited planets, but not un-inhabited? hey if by the time I return it has new owners that's tough on my part...
It also appears as if I cannot scan on asteroids...

You can map stars. Just tap on them, and they will be added to the Star Map after you exit the screen showing their Quality and Mineral ranges. Same for asteroids.

On android the stars that are uninhabited are forgotten even if tapped once the fog of war returns.

No, they only disappear when colonized by the Alien. Otherwise they stay, as long as you tapped on them and made the System window appear.

Ok. What about a compromised look. One I tap on a star it gives a popped up view of its quality and minerals. I suggest that in the physical world a star doesn't stop shining because an alien took it over. The sun should still stay mapped even if the aliens take it over. The icon would still be a surprise on the next visit. Similar to how the Star Craft game shows the map as unknown and then when uninhabited it fogs over... you can still see the land scape , just not the current activity.

We'll take it into consideration as we work to continue to improve ST 4X on the budget it has.

I am on android and the last couple of maps I've been playing on have had the planets stay highlighted even with xeno takeover (as long as when I first saw them I had clicked for stats shown) sometimes will need to get slightly closer for stats and map placement when 1st seen.
