With immersive mode here, exiting takes a bit longer. I typically use my remaining RP/XP then go back to main menu to ensure that everything saved, but then I've got to drag out from the left or top to exit. Heroes of Steel has one in its main menu.

I asked about this once also, and the game did have one during the Alpha. They said they actually get in trouble from Google having quit buttons in their games. Not sure when Google put this strange rule in effect but some seem to be old enough that it doesn't matter. startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/12306/2-1-quit-button-nice

I'm surprised Heroes Android still has one. Will check with Cory about that. ntsheep - we don't get in trouble with Google. However, if we fail to keep up with their standards and suggested guidelines, we get passed up on opportunities to have our games featured in Google Play. Being featured in Google Play would be huge for us. Once, we got an email about Star Traders RPG which read basically something like: "We evaluated Star Traders RPG for being featured, however it did not meet this documented standard. To be considered again in the future, please meet said standard." So, that was a sad day. For hopes at another chance some day, we follow the suggested guidelines and best practices as best as we can.

I still thinks it's unfair fallen that Google does that to you. I've also been a little put off by the extra things I have to do now because of Immersive mode on my tablet but deal with it since I like you guys a lot and understand why it was done.

ntsheep - honestly, I think its pretty understandable. They are trying to herd cats (I can say this as slayernz isn't around), so they publish guidelines. Anyway, it is what it is!

Do you guys know how to do something along the lines of what Pixel Boat Rush does? When you're browsing the menus, you get your back/home/alt tab like this: Then when you start actually playing, you get this:

Been at work all day. The thing I have trouble understanding is why is having a Quit button something Google doesn't want. What about it is wrong? I understand a need for guidelines when they make sense. I know you have to walk a fine line with the app stores and your customers. I feel sorry for the no win situations you must be put in at times. I'm afraid of the idiots out there that will leave bad reviews rather than taking the time to try and understand things. Herding cats isn't that hard also. It's amazing what they do at the sound of a can opener

ntsheep - I have never seen a bad review about a lack of quit button. I have never received an email about a lack of a quit button, and I get a lot of email. I have seen a few posts on the forum. The first time we ever submitted a game to Apple App Store, it was rejected because it had a quit button.

My question is this:
Why would you ever want to have a quit button for this great game?
The game autosaves every turn. I slide out the taskbar and hit home to go and do other stuff. Android is pretty good about managing memory.
I actually use Xposed Framework to keep the game in memory so I can always play it instantly. I don't like waiting the super long 8 seconds it takes to get into the game :-) actually, the game does load really fast compared to some others.

Glad to hear you haven't had any complaints fallen. Does Google and Apple say why you shouldn't have a Quit button. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm harping the subject here. I'm just confused over the whole idea that a Quit button is something you shouldn't have in you programs.

To me, this is equivalent to asking, "Why did Google choose the new Material look?" ... they just did. I imagine it has to do with all of the devices having built-in navigation, and the device designers intend for you to use them. Any "quit" button that we could use is basically hitting the home button.

That begins to make a little sense. On some of my android devices though, it just takes you back to the home screen and the program is still running. I'll then have to go into settings and Force Quit it to stop it running.

On some ROMs you can hold down the back button and it automatically kills the app

Thanks for that tip jknut. That's the kind of info I wish was more widely known or they put in a users manual.
