Star Traders RPG Elite Manual 1.1 UPDATED

Hello

A most awesome game, bought the Elite version with the all the addons and it has kept surprising me with the complexity and depth for months.

The manual in game was a bit small so I tried the various ones online and they all seem to differ so I put everything (I hope) together in a single MHT file.

I can turn the file into a PDF if anyone wants me to, I made the MHT so as not to worry about breaking tables over pages, the PDF is just useful for searching for information.

I have 99% checked (I must have missed something) that all the links work, the file can be used offline as all the links refer to the document not to online links anymore.

The MHT file was created with Microflop Word 2007 and tested on Firefox.

Star Traders RPG Elite Manual 1.0 will be the base file so if any of the developers want to comment or veto the project that would be helpful

If folk are interested I shall keep updating it as the need arises with edits and new sections.

How to use:

Download the file (link at the bottom of the post)
Open / Extract the zip
Double click on the file
It should open in a web browser unless you have something else set up as default for MHT files.

Using it in a browser makes reading the information much quicker as the links now go direct to the information, click on the reference link read what you need and press the backspace key to return to where you clicked from, makes looking things up much easier as all the manual is in one file. For search I use ctrl+f in Firefox to find things, not sure about other browsers so any comments on how to do the same in Opera, Chrome etc for other users would be a great help.


Star Traders RPG Elite Manual Current Version changes:

Version 1.0 (Base pages from the online manual here were all copied over into a new MHT file, edited, updated and added to) 

Added Independents to Factions
Added the three new Officers
Added the new awards
Added the Ship Designer
Added "The Tale of the Merchant Brothers"
Edited the index so that it was both easier to read and update
Edited links so that they go to the right section not just the correct page. (E.G Scout Officer will take you to the officer not just the list of Officers, hence I moved the three Templar's to the bottom of the Officers list so that any reference links in the manual will show all three now.) 
Various edits and corrections (common word spellings and duplicated entries mainly)

If I missed any updated text in any of the current manual sections that differ from the current in game manual please comment  .

Questions for the Developers:

A.The Ship Designer section (vanilla) is incorrect? The award unlocks don't match the details in the awards sections, I amended the ones for the crew and cargo but left the bottom two, they show 45 but the awards state 17?

B.From the awards section of the manual,

Quick contracts 2 | 8 contracts before 59.1AE | smuggler officer on crazy

Is this a typo? should it read Tradesman or is there another officer class, Smuggler, on higher levels?

C.Would it be possible to have a list of the aliens (species?) to add to the 'Aliens / The Alien' section, not just the AI names? Reason I ask is that one of the new Templar Officers has a reference to the Xeno, would be good to have a link on that to the alien itself.

D.Is the rumor section of the manual complete? For example, the 'Trade Embargo' rumor to get the Tradesman is missing, are there others?

This is phenomenal work! It can certainly be sliced up a bit more so isn't a flat file, but that can be the basis of any wiki that may or may not ever eventuate.

Could you elaborate on the rumors? I will then add them to the rumor section along with, hopefully, the answers to the questions above.
