Hello, I've been playing (and loving!) Star Traders RPG for a good while now and had come to accept the map screen as is. Yesterday my friend noticed that my map looked quite different than his. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and he has a Note 4. We both have Star Traders RPG Elite v5.9.25. One difference is that my maps (main and Zoom) are zoomed out much further and, while I would actually prefer it that way, I'm unsure whether or not it's expected behavior. The other difference is that my phone seems to have issues with the menu bar in the standard map (compare Map View - SG Note 4 vs 5 screenshot) where it seems to think there's enough real estate to display the full list of options (as seen in Landscape orientation) instead of the abbreviated one. Unrelated to the above issue (so maybe I should just create another thread), I've noticed that buying Rumors seems to be a little wonky. If a particular location only has 1 Rumor available I won't have the option to purchase it. If a location has more than one, when I get to the last Rumor the same behavior occurs (unable to purchase). Additionally, I feel like I don't necessarily have to purchase a Rumor in order for it to appear in my list (not 100% confirmed - it seems like it may be for certain types or Rumors). Thanks and keep up the great work! Zok

Rumors intentionally work that way. Many Rumors can appear in your list -- you'll see text in the screen about it when it happens, usually in the Urban Zone, Wild Zone or while in Sector Menu.
I'll see what I can do about the SG Note 5, if anything. I contacted Google and we'll see what we can figure.

Does paying then increase the number of rumors available? Or what purpose do my 100 credits serve? Thanks for the super speedy response time. EDIT: Nevermind - reading the help article now Sorry to bother.

Paying increases the chance that the Urban Zone will reveal a Rumor in a remote location. Faction and Spice Hall Rating determine the range of the Rumor detection for that Urban Zone. Spice Hall and Palace Rumors have different range and Faction influence. Even when you are not paying, your Reputation, Negotiation and Intimidation skills influence the chance that you'll get a Rumor detection instead of flavor text. Paying the 100 Credits more than doubles the chances.

Thanks again! Love the complexity and sheer amount of mechanics you've managed to bring together in this game. Can't wait for ST 2 RPG
