I have star trader rpg elite. Got a new tablet today. How do I get my captains from my old tablet onto new one? I still have my old tablet on me. Thanks in advance

Oh realized I never replied with my resolution. I finally rooted tablet and just did a titanium backup and loaded game that way with my data. Then connected tablet to wifi let it connect to Google play store to authenticate my elite status and purchases and I've been good to go

Hi mishaadams198828.. glad you managed to get migrated over. Titanium backup would have helped with your captains and unlocks. The Google Play store has records of any IAPs and app purchases, so would unlock everything anyway. One thing that people sometimes don't realise is that the game might not know the IAP is purchased. You need to "buy" again. The app then checks the Play store (or Amazon store, etc) and will discover that the IAP was already purchased and enable the feature without any charge. I am not smart enough to root my phone, so have relied on the process that Andrew had listed above. It was a little painful to work (Helium), but it did indeed work. At least it migrated the captains across. I can't remember if it also migrated the unlocked awards over though. In any event, I took it upon myself to try and unlock everything again anyway.

Rooting is definitely the most sure fire way to keep all your goodies on the device.

For anyone else with root access on both devices wanting to use Titanium Backup:
1. Back up ST RPG app on old device using Titanium Backup.
2. Navigate to backups directory. (Folder location in Titanium Backup settings > preferences > Backup folder location).
3. Copy the three files comprising the ST app back up to the new device - a .properties file, an .apk, and a .tar file. By default the .tar and .apk files will be compressed (in .gz format). You can use a file transfer app, a computer, email attachment, or whatever is most convenient. I just used Dropbox.
4. Install ST RPG on the new device if it is not already installed.
5. Place the files in the Titanium Backup backup folder on the new device.
6. In Titanium Backup, navigate to the options menu (not preferences but the menu from which you can select preferences). Select refresh app list to ensure Titanium Backup registers the new back up files.
7. In Titanium Backup, navigate to the ST RPG app, tap it, and tap restore.
7. Enjoy.
This method likely works with the free version of Titanium Backup.
Such conveniences are the reason I can't deal with unrooted devices.

violet - agreed, a rooted device makes this an easy one. We've got a partially developed cloud backup solution on Cory's desk and keep moving it forward, hopefully some day we can roll it out to the masses.
