I don't know if this has already been reported. When playing on Steam v4.1.39. Help bubbles will appear randomly. Sometimes they will follow my mouse cursor all over the screen changing to a different talent name as it moves. I can get rid of it by exiting the game then going back in. In the first screen capture you see it happening during the first time the party gets ambushed by Orcin while searching for Koda's son. Very happy all the buffs and character positions remained the same when I re-entered the game. Am I missing something?

Looks like an OS or game bug. We'd need specific details about how you trigger it, what type of actions you took before your Windows mouse layer bugged out.
Hardware, Windows version, build, patch level ... maybe even details about the mouse driver and GPU you're using.
When everything on the machine is working correctly, you shouldn't see these bugs. We'll need VERY specific details to be able to track it down for you.

John Robinson - this has been reported by a few other users on Steam, with exact matching screenshots. I made some fixes to the way that the Talent hover code worked around cut-scenes in v4.1.39 and those users have all reported that it has stopped happening. It seems like it may still be occurring in some cases. We were never able to reproduce it, we were just fixing other hover bugs we found when we were really deep looking. To do more work on it, we'd need exact steps of what you did before it started happening. Previous reports included saying that there was a talent hover open when a cut-scene started, but I cannot reproduce the error from that -- doesn't happen on any device here. Also, it is fixed if you go out to the main menu.

Cory Trese , fallen So far it's like "Why the heck did that just happen?". I was wondering if there is a keyboard command to close all help bubbles currently displayed on screen. I'll collect as much detailed info as I can and report back. Thanks

Some track pad's I have used had that sort of problem in many programs - they often have a palm touch sensitivity setting which sometimes helped in those cases for me.

If you have more information, we should be able to fix the bug for you. Or maybe we'll get lucky and find it on our own.

"Hate when that happens" is my most common reaction to this bug. (This is an actually very often encountered bug, in many applications.) The easier way to fix it is to forcibly close tooltip when cursor enters area where no tooltips supposed to exist. Unless you have a very, very robust window manager with infallible onmouse* events, incidents like this prone to happen. An often applicable workaround is to cause a different tooltip appear (hopefully replacing a bugged one) and then correctly disappear.

In this case, when the mouse hovers over the Talents table, the hover for the Talent appears in the middle of the screen

Hi I wanted to report the same bug as well, I haven't played the game in a year or more and decided that I wanted to play it through again. It happens constantly, almost every few seconds and it seems to choose a random skill each time. You mentioned that you need really specific information to reproduce it. Fresh install of both steam and the game. Dell Latitude E6410 Notebook OS - Win 7 64 Sp2 Build 7601 OEM Dell installer Core i7 720 (first generation) (not the original cpu, upgraded from an i5 many years ago) 8 gb ram 128 gb ssd Nvidia NVS 3100m Logitec M525 wireless mouse (unified device version) Dell Touchpad Drivers Running at full screen Running in background Intel Wireless manager (not using windows) Office 2013 Adobe Login- CC Steam (duh) Dell Printer Mgr Remote Utilities (It has messed with other games on my game PC) Second Copy Chrome and all its attached background crap MS Security Essentials, no other AV though
Any thoughts, it makes it almost unplayable for me?

It happens constantly, almost every few seconds and it seems to choose a random skill each time. You mentioned that you need really specific information to reproduce it. ... Any thoughts, it makes it almost unplayable for me? Thanks for the post. We are still working on this bug and trying to figure out how to reproduce it. It is a known work-around that you can go out to the main menu and then return to the game and the issue will be resolved. Most people report that it starts after playing for a while (30 to 45 minutes of play) and once it starts, it will not stop until you go to the main menu and then reload the game. Is that the experience you are having? Please try going out to the main menu and reloading to "clear the air." About specific information, what we desperately need is specific details as to the steps (clicks, hovers, timing, keystrokes) that lead up to the issue happening. We are seeking the repeatable action that will allow us to make it happen. I've seen it in video and screenshots, but I have never been able to reproduce it. So, that makes it very hard to fix

FWIW, it starts after the first encounter on a reload, and something else odd also seems to happen when it starts doing the bubble thing. I am not a fan of using the keyboard for shortcuts on my laptop. I click on the attack/action/magic/talent type and it highlights and then I click on the target enemy/compatriot to execute the talent which woks fine... until... the bubble issue starts, then I have to use the keyboard shortcuts (a,s,d,z,x,c) to select the talent. If I click on the talent with the mouse it no longer highlights, however I can still click on the intended target of the talent/attack. Even after the battle ends I can not click on a talent to use it, I must use the hotkey, for example, after a battle to use Tamlin to unlock a chest requires that I select the talent then the chest, I can not click on the lock pick talent, I must select the talent using the hotkey, I can still click on the locked chest once the skill is highlighted to open it.
As I said earlier it works fine till the help bubbles start popping up constantly, then selecting talents with the mouse does not work.
I hope this is detailed enough, please ask if there is something else I can do to help.

The reproduction steps is to click a talent, click a target, and then it starts happening 100% of the time? Or, is there some other unmentioned factor that you can detect? On my 3 test machines here, none of them can reproduce the issue as described. As mentioned, once we are able to reproduce it (been trying for 3 weeks straight now, dumped probably 25+ hours into it), we will fix it very quickly. But, for all the reports, we can't seem to get an actual step-by-step reproduction.

no, clicking the talent then clicking the target works fine until the first encounter (on a fresh save) then after the encounter it the bubbles start popping up (sometimes before). It is late, and I have to work in the AM, I will attempt record my screen as a video tomorrow at work. I will also try to create an actual log of everything click, keystroke etc... (I would much rather do this than my actual job at work tomorrow... haha)

Lol, thanks for the help -- we appreciate it. Same thing here, I have played the starting encounter 20 times over in the last weeks trying to reproduce the issue but simply cannot make it happen. So, its something subtle in the order of actions or timing that I am not doing.
Going to dump in a few more hours this morning.

Here is a salient question -- how much are you all using the keyboard?
For example, do you always end your turns by hitting enter? Are you selecting talents with the keyboard?
