Starport Breach does not have any option for swap out when the squad appears. Can this be changed?
Except for Captain & Engineer (and Hydra on select missions), I think every Templar should be "swappable." For example, there are two missions where the captain starts with two scouts or starts with two soldiers... I'm not sure why it's critical to the story for those not to be swapped to someone else (except for engineer on those levels).

Nope, that one cannot change for a number of reasons.
We agree -- every Templar that CAN be swapped is available for swap.
In some cases, based on player feedback, we have to turn off swap.
That cannot/will not change without re-building the levels.
We cannot afford that at this point.
Consider those levels a tactical challenge.

Actually, I need to find it again, but one of the Nyra missions gave a Swap button for her. I found it on my Normal game, so I aborted immediately afterwards, because there was no "credit" for her, so swapping in a serious Paladin (you know, one with some points in BE) cost the full 650 SP. IMO, that would be a fair price for dumping a "required" character that isn't the Captain.
