After finally figuring out my missing dialog in episode 4,I went into battle as usual. For some reason Tamilin has lost the ability to use torrent of steel with her dagger and her basic strike ability is gone as well. Had she lost all melee attacks and do I now need to regret selling all the throwing knives I never could figure out how to equip?

Yes, her melee is largely nerfed. She can use TKs at 1 range, but of course you do need the knives for that. She gains parry from her thrown skill as well, but can no longer dual wield and of course TKs offer no weapon based parry, with no current plans for that - it has been discussed, but episode 4 content, bug squashing and Vraes new art are forward right now it seems.
Her new skills/talents are great btw, but you're gonna need that gear.

Hey fallen can some basic TKs be dropped in the inventory for any one in a bad spot from this next update? - I honestly thought that was gonna happen from the first change... I'm not sure everyone can buy or find some.

It has been fully replaced with Throwing Knives (which does allow for range 1 attacks). You can pick up new throwing knives at smiths across the Underdeep, and are sure to see some drop in a chest eventually! I would definitely suggest checking out Tamilin's new Torrent of Steel Talent, a deadly -AP cursing attack!

I'm not sure everyone can buy or find some. I don't think we'll invest hours in that change. From what I can see, it would be reams of code to address a non-existing problem. Use your bow talent, move 1 square, etc. Throwing Knives can be found at many smiths across the Underdeep and are in almost every weapon loot group.

I've walked from Braeys to Koda without even a small worry about not being able to use dagger she had equipped after ToS changes. Blacknight is just too strong of a mobility talent to make range 1 combat a nonissue.

Heh heh I still have to admit that my Tami hasn't used a blade in anger for many a moon. Go the bows and Ranged Onslaught ... <sigh> .. my kinda heaven.

Although her melee defense has been nerfed Tams melee offense has been greatly buffed since she can throw an aoe cursing attack at melee range.

I think I may have figured out how to have her lead a high hp/soak team. Still not too sure on a dodge/parry Tam in the lead yet tho.

I guess I'm the only one who used her as a dual wield poor man's Selen with no investment in bows for some of my early playing. I am slightly-moderately off my rocker.

Not really. I tried that build back in the day before Selen was released. It was part of the original design as an option, but the game has greatly evolved since then. I feel for the better.

I think I cleared 4 major dungeons without noticing it (all bow all the time) , but I relied on her TOS to squelch mobs with less than 30 hp since she hit so reliably and could attack 7 times a turn.
Will the points spent in blades automatically transfer to throwing knives?
