Dearest Trese Brothers et al,
I wanted to let each of you know how grateful I am to you and your development team for creating such a wonderful line of role playing games. I especially love HoS. It seems there is a real lack of great rpgs in the world and you guys really gladden my heart with what you've built over the years. The superb story line and variety of workable play styles and skills are solid evidence of your love of the genre and make HoS the best in its class...bar none.
I have always been a lover of the rogue/assassin class of character, and Selen has been a real joy to play, therefore, I thought I'd offer my view, respectfully, as to the best way to build her. Based on the talent tree as it stands today as well as AP rules, I use her as a multipurpose aoe curser and skirmisher. In order to curse as many baddies' AP, dodge, parry, armor and damage as possible, I use a 2AP bow and a 1AP dagger. With Dance of Shadows' bonus MP she flies around the battlefield like a ginger dervish debuffing even the hardiest evil doers with the greatest of ease and then retreating to impunity behind her Outlander companion's Phalanx Shield. Stacking all +crit, +dam and her +2MP/+elemental damage boots may make her a bit squishy, but with Kyera and Kjartan standing ready with their level 10 aoe attacks and boosted with level 10 burning blades and level 10 anguish, her armor is rarely tested. On certain long cold nights by the way station campfire, my flame-haired queen can be heard softly weeping that she doesn't have a top-tiered talent worth her talent points, but then again, with a thousand orcin scalps hanging off her belt and being a full level above her nearest team mate does ease her pain rather quickly.
Thank you from the bottom of my shadowy heart for all of your collective hard work on this amazing game, and I'm looking forward to the rest of Episode 4......I am particularly excited to see what awaits me outside the Storm Brothers' Gates!
Sincerely Your Friend,
The Shade
