Both may be present in the ST2 era TB Con sounds like fun Can we do it? We don't even need to rent a hall. If there are only 11 of us like Cory said, it could just be in somebody's basement or something. I'll bring some chips

You should find a game/comic con to put a booth up for advertising ST2 (Once it comes out, that is...)
Nothing pushes some units like a room chock full of like-minded nerds.

I like the idea of a discussion thread or threads on themes/issues etc...
I think there's something to be said for avoiding politics, or at least keeping it isolated to a thread of its own. One of my favorite online communities was destroyed by discussions about politics. When it comes to politics, I hope we can all agree that both parties--Democrats and Republicans--can share the blame, starting with politicians but extending to the voting public and, utlimately, driven to a large degree by the system we have in place--gerrymandering, superpacks, highly paid lobbyists who used to be politicians...
When it comes to drinking, I have several relatives who suffer from alcoholism, I've seen some real bad crazy shit, they're not drinking now, and that's a blessing. Having seen how bad that can get, I've avoided it addiction, though I have the genetics and personality for it. As it is, I have a beer or two a couple of times a month--these new craft beers are awesome.
I think En1gma might be on to something with the booth idea. The TBs could definitely find some volunteers well versed in their games to man a booth on this forum.
I must of missed something, but this thread is getting kind of long.

TB Con would be awesome. Of course you'd need different animal pens. Cats, of course, don't care about any foreign concepts of ownership. If a cat can touch it, it must have been put there for the cat. Ergo - the cat owns it and it gracious enough to share it with you. On another note, I'm really worried about the state of American politics. I know America believes they are the center of the universe, and unfortunately with the role of POTUS, it is almost like that. Pres Obama was always going to be challenged by an obstructionist congress, and the absolute stubbonmindeness of some lobby groups who work for self-interest without caring about the big picture. That's also true in Australian politics too - stupid lobby groups say "Noooo, you can't cut that funding because it affects me", even though there is a budget deficit and no signs of relief for years and years. Cut the damn budget - you'd have to do it if it were a personal budget because banks just stop lending to you anyway and if you have run out of funds and still insist in having 3 bought coffees a day, and want to travel in 1st class, then it's your own damned fault if the banks pull the plug. But I digress. Back to the US and the very VERY scary thought of Donald Trump becoming president. The sad thing is, though, that IF America votes in Donald Trump, the world will think America is a joke, and it would be obvious that America doesn't care about world opinion. There is no way DT would be able to build an effective wall between the US and Mexico - the cost of doing so would be prohibitive. America isn't like China with its great wall. I suspect that even if China wanted to build the great wall now, it would struggle. Also, walls were only effective until engineering and other modes of transport other than feet/ground transport were invented. Will the walls go up 50,000 feet? Will they go out into the gulf and stop boats and subs? Aarrrgh. Okay I think I should go have coffee now. I really do feel like I was possessed by ... Which incidentally, has earned her owner $100 million!!! WTF - it's just a cat! Oh wait, what am I saying ... ... about that coffee

If Trump gets elected we are all screwed. Period. Hell, he would probably be the one to press the big red button and make Fallout canon for real life

I feel better with Trump than anyone else. I think America is a joke right now. The Republican party is just too screwed up with them selves. They can't agree on anything. They try to copy cat too much and still don't get anything done. I don't blame just one party or politician only, as a whole they've all failed the people that elected them and the ones that didn't. They forget too easy that even if they got 50% of the vote, there's still another 50% that don't like them. Those are the ones you need to compromise with. I have always thought that America has too big of an ego. We shouldn't be trying to solve the worlds problems when we can't solve our own. We stick our nose in business that we shouldn't and then throw a fit when things go wrong. Like I said before, just because I may disagree with what you say, I'll still fight for your right to say it. When we don't talk about things and close our minds off is when we have truly lost our freedom.

I could certainly see the argument against politics in a thread like this one

Done deal. Let's keep this one more philosophical, agreed? (Meaning: no politics, in case there was any confusion )
