drdave you just issued a "Gosub" command on the digisheep paradox subroutine. The eggs can't be fakes if God created them for a purpose. You're saying he foresaw that a portion of humanity would not believe in him so he took steps to either play a practical joke or because he knew that people need something to believe, he made plants and animals that would contradict his own existence thereby pitting both side against each other. You have in fact actually come up with a sound explanation that proves both sides are correct. It doesn't say in the bible that he used brand new materials to create everything. He could have used stuff that had been lying around for millions and billions of years. So the Earth really could be just a few thousand years old from when it was made, but the material it was made from had already been in existence. It's like a carpenter that goes out a cuts down a tree. He turns it into a table and chairs and then sells it the next day. As table and chairs, they're only a day old, but the tree they came from was two hundred years old. So how old really is the table and chairs.

Why god in the end anyways? Intelligent design is for beings that just know how to cook properly.
But the reality is none of it came first. Like your example of making the table how old is it in the end. The tree was not made that day. Same with the maker of the table he did not just appear for the creation of that table. Also he didnt create the tree for its purpose of being a table. And to ask who came first is just something you will have to ask a coder for, I didnt program this matrix

Hardly ever hitch hiked, but back in the '90s I used to drive around Argyll a lot, where there is a culture of hitching (due to a distinct lack of public transport) so I regularly picked up hitchers. Once on a drive from Oban to Glasgow (about 80miles/2hrs) I stopped 4 times to pick up hitchers, ended up with 5 of us in a Land Rover, none of whom knew each other.

I've been getting into meditation. I strongly recommend everyone give it a try. It can benefit the mind in many ways.

I lost my mind somewhere. Will meditation help me find it?

Losing one mind is hard enough, when you have a flock of minds like me that all go in different directions you're pretty much screwed to a level the not even quantum string theory could understand or fix.

At least sheep minds tend to follow each other ... a flock of sheep is much more manageable than a herd of cats
