You set me up, Cory!! Indy bounty closed fast, boarded, and I could not retreat. My crew dropped fast. Time to reroll him.

Before that though I did get to see a few merchants. Nice and heavy with cargo. I think it needed a tweak, myself. Now if pirates had a better chance and finding merchants in general or while using patrol would be nice. My personal opinion would be pirates would take more part in a trade war as they have 2x the rep bonus during one. Problem is once your rep is too far negative, you normally find military or anything but merchants. That is just how I see a pirate in the ST universe. More to cause economic damage than assaulting military like in real world. Yes, a few did sack towns, but most stayed to merchants or finding the treasure galleon fleet heading back to Spain.

Low Reputation does not mathematically reduce your chances of encountering a Merchant in any way. Just FYI, not related at all.

Ok, what is affecting it then? Am I doing something wrong? Obviously, I would much rather capture merchants, especially in a trade war. Merchants are not combat oriented and their cargo is what I'm after.

Hmm. Might have to pay better attention to my rumors and types of wars. I will tinker around some. Like I mind playing ST a bit differently than before.

That's what I love about ST. I play on insane, or I did as my pirate just met his end lol. The replay ability of this game is incredible. Now, back to having merchants re route after hearing rumors of the Fourth Horseman active close by and hunters salivating of the bounty on my head.
