Perhaps you should make an award for taking out an enemy ship in 3 turns or less.

What, you mean from long range? Hmmmm I didn't mean from long range necessarily. If you can move forward twice than one-shot 'em with engine attacks or boarding that could work too, I guess.

Oh ... I've taken out ships in 3 moves ... but remember, the game starts at turn one. Long range. It goes: turn 1 = start at long range turn 2 = move to medium range turn 3 = move to close range turn 4 = fire. Enemy ship's engines all gone bye bye. Enemy defeat. So to do it in 3 turns, you'd need to shoot earlier I just did it with an enemy bounty. Turn 1 = start at long range Turn 2 = shoot. Enemy hull down to 50% Turn 3 = shoot. Enemy hull down to zero. All enemies hold their breaths for a little bit before succumbing to the void of deep space Ha ... just did it in 2 turns ... Turn 1 = start at long range Turn 2 = shoot. Ship hull dropped to zero. All enemies turned into ice cubes

I think that my experience in trying this test was that I had to forgo accuracy in order to get the fast win. No enemy hull survived during the 6 tests I did. Contrast that with the 80%+ capture rate that I normally have. maybe instead of the 3 or 4 turn kill, have an award for 10 boarding actions or 10 wins without damaging anything but engines.

We're beginning to add feature enhancements to a 5 1/2 year old game ... these metrics aren't currently captured, but could be useful to a person who loves fine detail in ST2
