Manufacturing 3 on the research tree (this is on the branch that joins the research branch) allows you to create a manufacturing treaty.
The text tells us
"Converts Trade War to Trade Ban. Build for 100 EP (Espionage points) + $250; 75% chance to succeed".
Problem: There is no "Trade Ban" conflict in the game.
There IS a Trade Ban TREATY you can create , which is available under Faction Diplomacy 4:
Trade Ban: "Use Trade Pressure to end a Solar War. Build for 400 EP + $1500; 70% to succeed."
And there is also the faction conflict "Trade Embargo" -- described as a Trade Ban in the library :
Trade Ban: "Increase colony maintenance by 5%. Decreases Idle CP and Trade values by $4."
However, you will never be notified of or see a "Trade Ban" conflict on the politics screen, nor be notified of one.
So, my question:
Does the manufacturing treaty convert a Trade War (increase colony maintenance by 10%; Decrease Idle CP and trade value by $3; decrease income by population by 4$ per pop per turn) into a Trade Embargo?
That is what I infer from reading this. If so, suggest that the words "Trade Embargo" be used throughout to refer to the Trade Embargo conflict, leaving the term "Trade Ban" to refer exclusively to the treaty of that name.
Respectfully,
Brian P.

Yeah, just remembered this thread when I got a Trade War the other day and wanted to try out the Manufacturing Treaty. I'm down for changing it all to Trade Embargo too.
