Couldn't find the old thread, so I started a new one! I'm playing rather successfully as a pirate and I find that Javat Prime is short on records. Great I can do that, who's in a Spy War so I can double up on rep? Javat and Cadar. AND there's a Trade Alliance with Thulun!  Perfect, where's the closest Cadar planet? 9 AU away.  Sweet, I'm gonna Spy my head off. Several turns later, Thulun gets in on that Spy War... Against Cadar.  Oh, and I have 20-odd electronics in my cargo from merchants and smugglers. ;D So full of win on Crazy right now... GRAVY TRAIN!! |

Don't waste turns selling the Records. Stash them somewhere really close, so you don't let the Conflicts time out.
Adding to Stash takes only 1 turn, selling a huge load of Spy Records can take ages.

Valid point. I am only selling like 15 or less records a turn as I come back for fuel rather quickly (I was built to raid, not orbit lol), but I'll keep a close eye on that conflict. Then again, if a Clan picks on DeValtos, that would be even better... Mwahahahaha |

The shortage ended after I made a net gain of $80k, shortly after Javat gave up spying on Cadar. Of course, I could Spy on Cadar for Thulun, but I wanted that money honey! Also make $50k selling 30+ Electronics on Corelloth, where I'm looking at a Starport expansion for new Ships. Good haul today, friends!!

Those synergy moments are awesome, especially after being at the mercy of events shifting against you (oh, need wf? Before takeoff and certain mutiny? Which faction did you say your With again? How attached are you to not being a terrorist?) Leads into mine... I'm a star trader so I can keep a hand in the pot in all areas. My crew and I loot up off some hellish waste, for one losing but a few brave souls and only 3 of my 4 or five eyes. I'm still green (literally, Javat lol) do I can only sell there, and prices haven't been great but it's free goods minus my conscience o'er my lost kiddies... but what's this??? A trade alliance? TWO of them?? With my planned future allies? AND The sell price is up on Artifacts! This must make the prince happy, as until now he hasn't had much to say to me. But now he won't shut up! And it's about a shortage...and a surplus...and I recognize every name from the free-verse map days. After the crew and I cash in, we see the faction we just added permit has plentiful cheap restricted goods. We load up for some more RP padding with our allies... and one of them adds a trade alliance to a neutral... 4 permitted factions in hand, I stumble right into a spy war that I can fatten one trending neutral off of while selling to the last faction, which adds a trade alliance back to my home faction. I couldn't believee it. Kept expecting some embargo, SOMETHING LOL |
