For this update, we've focused on a major performance boost across the game. You should feel it in every screen of the game -- from the time it takes to load all the way to the game map, to the speed of running a turn, to opening and browsing colonies, ships, techs. When you're invading enemy colonies, we've again improved the invasion result messages. Now, damage dealt against your ships during invasion is shown in the event logs. We've also fixed some issues with the option screen, and shifted it into the normal menu. A couple of reported bugs about Talent menu layout have also been wrapped up. Please leave a review if you enjoy this game and the continued updates!v2.6.1 - 2/23/2016 - Major Performance Improvements - Improved Invasion Results Messages - Improved Options Screen - Fixed Talent Menu Layout Bugs - Fixed Sound Effects for some ship engines - FASTER!

I can't wait to try it. I've noticed the game has been laggy of late. I seem to notice it most when moving the first ship in a new turn--there's a significant, fraction of a second delay between double tapping the the destination tile and any change in the ship. fallen, Que es Talent Menu? Are you using HoS speak?

Yeehaw, I've noticed my garden game slowing down a bit. Hopefully this speeds it back up!

Yeehaw, I've noticed my garden game slowing down a bit. Hopefully this speeds it back up! Almost certainly due to the AI's turns getting longer and more complex to process.

Weird, I could swear there used to be a bunch of posts on this thread extolling the virtues of the improved performance and awesome screen loading times... Because I remember thinking that while I'd seen some improvements on my Nexus 5X, they didn't seem as dramatic as others were describing.
I just downloaded the March Android update for my Nexus 5X. There's fairly widespread reporting that this update provides a nice performance upgrade, reducing the freezing and glitchyness some 5X users have reported. In the short time I've had the update, my 5X hasn't had any freezes and load times seem faster. When it comes to ST4X the improvements are dramatic, start-up is faster, ships don't hesitate before moving and screens load rapidly--this seems like what others described--ST4X is blazing fast now!!!

Yeah man, my sincere apologies on behalf of Google's Android team for the shit quality of the entire line of Nexus device OS images.
They feel really bad about it, but don't seem to have any intention of really fixing them.
Bugs I reported during the initial development of Star Traders RPG (5 years ago) remain open against the core OS ... Androids ... sigh.

Some of that is almost certainly from us fixing the loading code, most of it is probably from Google fixing the issues with the 5X's Dalvik registers and bytecode interpreter.
Basically the hardware with the earlier OS was only running at about 80% of it's abilities because Google.
