Yeah, I decided to try and defeat him...Though I could do it...Then he split and I regretted my life choices. Any tips on how to deal with his?
My team: Kincaid, Kjartan, Fyona, and Selen.
Kincaid: Focused down sure parry and lunge.
Kjartan: Focused down the fire...ball ability (or whatever it's called) and firestorm.
Fyona: Focused down zealous strike and cortias shield (ironic).
Selen: Focused down pinning shot and crippling blade.

One of the things I think helps the most is to run on your first and maybe half the second turn. Spend most of your AP / MP moving out of the circle. If you let them come at your from all sides, its really bad. Get by a wall or other terrain feature you can fight around.

Hmm ranged is probably what is causing you the issues I am guessing. Bow, Javelin, and Chain Spike need to be at 1 AP fast, they must go down first. Meteoric shockwave will go a long way to helping you live. I would load Kincaid up with as much dodge and parry as you can muster. Should be able to get about 20 of each if you devote all items to it. Cunning Footwork is a pretty amazing skill on him btw. Something else to consider is tank Selen via Quicksilver defense. I have found 2 solid tanks make the new content much more managable because you don't need to worry about positioning as much.

It would help to know what went wrong.
The first round I sent my tank towards one of the ranged enemies and then sent everyone past him outside of the circle. Your immediate priorities should be: 1. Protect your squishies. They need to be outside of the circle when they collapse on your tank. 2. Curse everything. Use your second round to curse as much as you can.
From there it was pretty manageable for me.

Those ranged guys just wrecked everyone. I'll try to deck Kincaid out with a bit more dodge and parry, and try a few other builds with everyone. See how it goes:P

A Tome of Giant Strength (+200 HP) would be great, or a Tome of Wrath. Pre-load on Tome of Sustainment to be sure you can handle a long fight.

I played with Kincaid, Vincent, Fyona, and Tamilin.
Died on my first turn when surprised by the split.
On the second try, I cast some Tomes to add Acc and Elemental damage, and a Tome to give everyone +2 move. And then a Sustainment Tome.
Then I ran away from the archers and past the Hammer guy because he is slow and only has 1AP. I got Vincent and Tamilin way past the Hammer guy, and then they cast curses to reduce the AP and Acc of the ranged guys.
Kincaid attracted all the attention of the mob, and when the enemies were massed around him Fyona hit them with Strickening. After that I used ranged attacks to kill off the ranged enemies as quickly as possible.
Vincent had 6MP and Tami 5MP, so they were able to attack and then retreat out of range.
My Kincaid has a Cunning Footwork 10, and Sure Parry 7, and gear that give +16 Dodge and +8 Parry. He was not hit once during the entire battle. He uses throwing knives which allowed him to pick off the ranged attackers without having to move from the most intense parts of the melee battle.
Fyona is the one I had the most difficulties with. She has good dodge parry gear and the Shield of Cortias but was still hit consistently by the ranged attacks. I had to use complete heal potions at least twice to keep her alive.

Going to have to visit a few smiths for the gear. I admittedly sold all of the gear I wasn't wearing a bit ago XD It wasn't a total loss! I now have over 200 health and SP potions:P

Where does it drop? Or is it the special magic store item?

Those types of Tomes drop in the more secret and hard to get to locations throughout the game. Sounds like bad luck you haven't found any. They crop up all through E3 and E4 in the loot tables.
