Hey guys, I have never asked for a spoiler, but I thought I'd give it a go for a new playthrough.
I'm going after Wyatt and Tevensa with the intention of killing Tevensa and keeping the Heartbeats of Summer (this will be my first time doing this out of many games). My dialogue with Amarth seemed to indicate that he wouldn't look too favorably on that course of action and that I should help Wyatt.
I'm wondering if this story choice will prevent or impact the reward I get from Amarth when I bring him relics from C8 for Kincaid.
If it does, I think that should be made clear somewhere. My guess is that there will be no impact on his willingness to help me but just wanted to see if anyone else has taken this story line and has any insight. Thanks!

I'm sure fallen will chime in about this, but explicitly listing predictions about future rewards doesn't really fit the style of dialog in the game IMO.

In response: "No, it does not." Lol, I love "C8"

Cory Trese and fallen I didn't tag you guys originally because I couldn't imagine a situation in which you would tip your hand story wise about future rewards. I decided to go for it before reading your response, out with the old, right? This group has been herding the old gods towards the "exit" as fast as they can find them, so what's one more. Also, I think the last time I went through the Fang subquest was before the upbalance on Heartbeat of Summer. Wow! What an artifact! Fyona is definitely loving it. If I ever come through with Fyona and Tam in the same group, it's going to be a hard call on saving Wyatt (for the potential Iceheart Bow) Can't wait for the final relic items to come out. I have a KVFS group and having three out of four characters have relics truly makes them look like gods as they slice their way through infernal spiders. So enjoyable! It's moments/scenes like that that keep me coming back after three years and also make it hard to remember that this is a three year old game.

@rearick - thanks for the huge energy boost as I sit down to work on the new content. What great positives.
The Heartbeats had to get up-balanced so that it could stay competitive with the new E4 loot, otherwise I think the Wyatt choice was too easy.
Amarth may be sad to have lost his friend, but when you come to him with the smithing project of a lifetime ... he couldn't say no!

I hate to suggest it, but is the new up-balanced Heartbeats too powerful? You get it in Ep.3 and although there may be other items of similar quality in Ep 4 (I have only done a bit of Ep 4 so far), you can have this insanely powerful item through all of the CoD. Is there anything else close to this powerful in Ep. 3?
For my new party, the first thing I did in Ep. 3 was start the Volpa quest and get the Heartbeats of Summer. Originally I intended on finishing the quest and giving it back, but because it is so ridiculously powerful I decided to take it for a spin in the CoD first. Wow! I gave it to Kincaid with 1 AP knives and AOE darting steel. The 48 holy damage (and most enemies being weak vs holy) means he pretty much always does over 100 damage and regularly crits for well over 200. The AoE means he regularly hits 3 or more enemies at a time 7 times. The 22% SP drain means he is at full SP halfway into a battle. The +300 SP is completely irrelevant because he never uses even a quarter of his SP. I don't need to do any -armor or -resistance cursing. I just let Kincaid destroy everything while everyone else does a bit of poking or cursing on the side.
Despite all of this, I think I will still give it back for role playing reasons . . . but I'll certainly romp through most of the CoD first!
