contributor - thanks Glad the forum is here for venting. By providing Difficulty + Character Levels I can see his exact stats. I will compare him to the sword-and-board shade and see what I come up with. Rashar - thanks for the level and difficulty post. I never know what anyone is playing, so having the full detail stack is important. I will take a look and see if I can see anything out of band.

I would second lurker's comment on the difficulty of hitting in this battle. My characters, roughly level 46 or 47 on NMI found the shield bearer to be irritating to the point of frustration. Running a KKKS party and stacking CA 10, EA 10, and PS 8 plus FU max, Selen could sorta hit with PS, and Kincaid almost never with melee attacks. As a base my Kincaid has, 13 strong accuracy plus 53 regular accuracy. In that battle, I also was running accuracy scrolls (one of each element for an additional +8 accuracy I think), pushing accuracy dice into the 60s.
The battle was amazing and the rest of the fighters went down reasonably. The shield bearer was just leaps and bounds harder to hit, the most difficult in the entire game I have encountered to date. Up to this point, my characters seldom miss, and this battle resulted in multiple rounds of sitting around and whiffing for the most part with all characters.
Selen would typically hit 1 out of 3 ranged attacks I recall with an accuracy of 25 strong dice and 53 regular accuracy dice.

phaze - great to hear some other players seconding the feedback. I am amazed I haven't heard it before, as the Cortias fight has been a big topic in my email. Some say, hardest fight in the game. At level 46, I see the shield bearers having 29 Strong Dice and 51 Standard Dice. I have reduced to 21 and 41, and shifted the dice allocations so that they are even more susceptible to ranged. They should still be hard to hit, but it shouldn't be to the point of frustration or dragging the fight out forever.
