I was surprised to find that after my Javalin there seem to be just a handful of 20-plus Hull Ships for me to buy, and only a few that made me consider turning my ship in. I wasnt expecting the top of ship choices to be so small.  |

Yeah I think I agree. I think, at the very top of the food chain costing a ludicrous sum of money should be some insanely big ships. Something like a Gloriana class Battleship from 40k

There are a lot of 20+ hull ships and quite a few are considered good options. The Devaltos flash ship is but one example. However once you have the ship designer, end game ships are almost irrelevant.

Other thing to keep in mind is the ship design mechanics. If you want a Fast or Quick ship hull size is limited.
Reason why prior to the ship designer most of the top ships were 20 hull or smaller unless you were looking at a more boarding focused combat style with very large crews.
The practical tradeoffs for very large hull ships vs speed/agility make them both very rare and extremely expensive.
