Hey folks,
Made it to this area, tried to snoop around a bit, but uhm... well there was some killing to be done and afterwards they burned the house containing 3 red chests...
My question is: "Are these obtainable through some means?"
Thanks in advance!
With kind regards,
rashar.

Rashar - no, they are not -- they are like many red chests you see during story scenes with Reeves, Knights, and other characters -- out of reach.

Lol There were some other goodies in the chests outside? How did you decide to deal with Vlotgar?

Ow yeah, there was a blue and red chest outside and the red chest gave two items that were very good:
Braeysguard a 9 parry shield with 2% crit, 120hp, +3 melee accuracy and d12 damage Bonesteel plate a 84armor -3 evasion with 2% crit, 80hp and +3 melee accuracy
Seeing as my Vraes was using a regular 7 parry shield and a breastplate that only gave 60 armor these two were huge upgrades, especially since I started using BB from Kjartan and going for Berserkers rage with Vraes soon. crit % everywhere! \o/
As for the choise(s) I made, during the stroyline I think I found that it was proven enough that Vlotgar did not have Valent his best interest at heart, so I decided that if just bringing him in was an option I would do so, but Vlotgar was meddling with higher powers and suffered from illusions of grandeur... so far anyone that has challenged Vraes has not lived to tell the tale. He signed his own death pact so I decided to make sure not to let him escape into the mountains and end him in his own hunting lodge. (Not sure if storywise the other option would have let me get into the mountains, but Vlotgar wasn't going anywhere with his female companion.)
I really like the story in this second act a lot, it is very detailed and for the world we are in it makes sense. I go out of my way to follow all the conversations to make sure I get information about the story and have a decent understanding as to why we are driven forward. The spider cult storyline was truly one of the best things I experienced so far in this game, but I really enjoyed the storyline around koda and braeys so far aswell.
I had mercy on the ex-god in gholla overlook, I have yet to pick a side for Braeys or Koda, but I will probably pick braeys. And while chasing Rabiel I have a funny feeling he was disguised as a gypsy merchant selling staves. After picking a side I will start marching to the city of dead and see what will happen from there on.

For those of you who have let Vlotgar escape:
1) did you still get the bonesteel plate and braeysguard? 2) did you encounter Vlotgar anywhere else?
Has anyone taken the dirty money? Were there repercussions?

Were there repercussions? No, armor and shield if you let Vlotgar escape. I think you just get a random treasure roll instead. I've taken the money and have never noticed any negative repercussions. I've heard discussion of Vlotgar in episode 4, and am looking forward to meeting him again.

I see your point -- Vraes can't start letting people challenge him and walk away. So, that settles it! I am glad you are enjoy the whole storyline. I hope you find that it keeps maturing, turning in on itself, and getting more and more interesting. It has been a real joy to put the plan into action over these last three years since the KickStarter. Thank you for your support and the encouragement!
