xdesperado - sorry that you find the fog of war implementation frustrating. I can only imagine the numbers of hours Cory has dumped into the implementation. At this point, we don't have any open tasks to improve it. Sorry that you find it unacceptable. We'll keep trying to improve. Most times on HoS and BF it's fine. May just be my Galaxy Tab3 that's the issue, but at times squares in both games that should clearly be revealed due to proximity of a character to them will remain concealed. For some reason this happens most often when there is an enemy with ranged attack either occupying the square or in position to move into it from another still concealed square. This leads to one of my heroes/templars taking attacks that they wouldn't be subject to if the fog wasn't there and I could see them. With this latest occurance, repeating turn, knowing they were there I made sure Kjartan caught them with Choking Ash and Selen took them out with Pinning Shot instead of using it on the Shaman and advancing melee rats. This allowed Kincaid to weather the hits from Shaman and melee rats that were visible and the battle came to a quickly successful conclusion after that. On a side note, at times with close scrutiny you can just spot the edge of an enemy as they shift back and forth in these concealed squares, but you have to be actively searching for such and at times their weapons won't protrude enough to spot them.

xdesperado - whether or not a monster is in a tile has no impact on the fog of war system. If you can provide exact screenshots, then we could investigate a specific ray of sight that the FOW system is using to see if we could improve. Without screenshots, we are shooting at fish in the ocean, at night time I doubt you have them for this occasion, but keep it in mind if it happens again. We'd love to improve, but we need data points as yes, it is very likely related to how floating point math is handled on your device.

This particular game is on steam. I have a 1.8B game on Apple (end of current content), so far at 1.5B in this game. The apple game I did before I knew about lots of the respawns and stuff so the steam score should be significantly higher. Probably going to do another Apple run to get the highest score I can on that leaderboard too. betterlookingtwin on steam, it was #1 last I check on nightmare no death board. Sounds like we are pretty close on the Apple leader boards. The score changes knocked me down from over 2 billion. At the end of the current content, I am also at 1.8 billion and some change though also have a ton of stuff to sell. I am tempted to play the same party through for a replay for a score optimization. My lead party was created before all the SP equipment changes, so there is a great deal of scoring efficiency to be gained. Let me know if you restart, and perhaps we can have a race

It can be race of score, rather than time But regarding Fog of War, the only real way to combat it is to use farsight talents. They are there for a reason.

Well beating matrim won't be easy But phaze I don't see you to often mingled in conversations/discussions and I'm interested as to what your homebrew is with your 1,8b apple run. farsight 4 is your friend, it will prevent any death from things that might hide under fog of war. The downside is, it feels like wasting 3 talent points, the upside... there will be no such thing as dying to two rat bowmen.

The downside is, it feels like wasting 3 talent points, the upside... there will be no such thing as dying to two rat bowmen. Admittedly it was not just two Bow Rats that did in Kincaid, they were just the unexpected extra damage that took him down. I knew he was going to be taking a heavy beating that turn most likely but figured he'd weather the pounding down a potion renew his Sure Parry and clean house, those extra 4 hits coming out of no where weren't included in my plans. As for Far Sight/Sly Look I typically use it either before triggering fights or during first round only. After that I feel the AP cost usually isn't worth it. In this case I had a set battle I was going into, clearing the Nordhall Siege. I'd already cleared everything south of the river and then looped up around the west side near the way station. Before triggering battle I used Sly Look to reveal as much area south and east as possible then moved into the field starting battle. When that happens much of the open area between the houses and the river is revealed so there was only a narrow strip on west side no more than 1 or 2 squares wide running down towards river. I moved party down near corner of village wall to meet the Ratkin swarms and that cleared sight line almost to far eastern wall along the village rampart but a small section starting about 3 squares south of the rampart and running diagonally to southwest remaind covered by the fog. Once fully engaged with the on rushing horde those 3AP were either going towards Pinning Shot to remove AP and help kill stuff or as part of a fallback in position to prevent being overrun. It's one of my favorite battles, generally intense with a strong rush by the enemy, yet not usually heart stopping like the ambush at Nordhall entrance can be.

Stealth and farsight (raised to 2) to always maximize optimum placement for minimizing ranged attacks. Kincaid for max dodge to manage other ranged damage as needed. With KKKS, I roll critical hits to max damage while using EA and PS to reduce AP as needed. This party doesn't do as much damage as a Fyona/Holy Strickening party, but having EA at 10 does an amazing job of shutting down a battlefield for safety of an ironman team. It does both AP reduction and accuracy reduction, so it works against all enemies. Kjartan uses CA 10 and FS 5 for an admixture of cursing and damage delivery. MS is used situationally. Seen uses PS with max damage equipment to deliver pain from afar. Honestly, part of the success of ironman is a result of having played through episodes 1-3 enough times to have memorized a lot of the most painful battles. I also like this group as the talent combinations allow the greatest versatility of equipment. FU adds accuracy and damage for the party, free up equipment slots for more fun attributes. Piety Ward and Pureflame Shield free up valuable slots through providing resistance. I wrote up a lengthy review on of the threads, I think the Nightmare Ironman thread.

End of June is reasonable. My work and personal life keep me pretty busy, so free time is limited to play at length. My thought was to replay a KKKS party to best my high score. Are you suggesting we change parties in this current challenge? Let me know.
