In this game, unless you can write literally every threat off the board consistently-- something I've only ever been able to do with Electrickening, FB 10 groups, or LS sometimes-- the best defense in HoS is a great defense. Bottom line.

Ok, got my party through the Shaman. Krete are going to be rough for them, so I'll have to go slowly. I'm at 58.7 mil entering Torrent Watershed. I feel like I've been moderately efficient. Toward the end of the Ratkin levels I was camping frequently because I've botched it there too many times pushing hard. The best way to lose points is to die afterall.

Congrats! Krete always worry me whatever party combination.
I just cleared the shaman as well and just about to head out of oskahold. My score is 63,010,640. The added xp makes a big difference.
Kincaid should be near self sufficient with Lukai's blade. With a bit more gear, Kyera could be mostly so.
Being familiar with this party, I feel comfortable pushing them. Camping is minimal, using potions more and stockpiling less. I've been running them ragged in battles until all characters are depleted in sp. Camping mostly for leveling up, but with a solid party base now, I can go even two levels without spending points. CA is a beautiful talent for efficiency, making all attacks hit and do damage. Very SP efficient. I sadly did not get any zenith amulets, probably one of the best sp drain items on the early game.

Nice score. It looks like I'm going to have to up my game to play with the big boys. That and stop buying anything for my heroes. (Dear Death's Chosen, due to budgetary constraints we are putting a moratorium on any new purchases for the time being, at the same time we would like you to increase your kill rates and ensure your personal saftey. We have the utmost confidence in your ability to make these small adjustments, Sincerely, Management.) I was a little worried because I still had Tamilin in 8 armor. She almost never takes hits, but still it's a little freaky to know how much damage she could take quickly I just found a 28 overcoat though so that helps.
I had a crazy idea and I don't know if anybody knows the math on it, but what if instead of camping and relying on potions to keep your score down, you camped regularly and sold the excess potions you accumulated. Money influences your score so much, that it might actually be a bigger benefit than avoiding camping.

An interesting idea. My sense is that since camping has a high negative impact overall it would outweigh the benefit of more gold. Potions have fairly low sell value I recall.
Gold does impact score but tops out based on what fallen said. From my other party, selling multiple equipment items for tens of thousands of gold had minimal score impact when gold is over 200k. At least relative to a score of 1.8 billion.

For armor, both Kincaid and Selen are rocking 8 armor, valuing the special abilities and using avoidance. Kincaid is tricky to play for that reason given his lower hp. He doesn't completely dominate until better equipment is available.
For that reason, it is important to play for safety, such that Kincaid will only be exposed to damage he can survive. I play a high con Kincaid over dex in the early game until dodge equipment is sufficiently available.

I just got my tablet back and it's still signed in to Google Games app and thus I can see the Google leaderboards. I wonder if Kanly is aware of this little challenge. He's currently at the top of the google boards at 2b. Crazy to see I'm still in 4th with 300k something. I've gotten higher scores than that now, but wasn't signed in. |

2B is the score to beat, I think I am close on my steam game but that one is not part of the challenge. I have yet to make it to Oskahold, friends from Australia keep distracting me!

Hah, I respecced a further along team (COD) to try and test out the build I'm working on. I wanted to see what they were like around level 36. The first door I opened with Kincaid was an insta-death from two towers and a swarm of archers. Derp, ok I need to rethink a few things.

I can say, playing in the Torrent Watershed, that the new SP drain equipment will blow out our old scores Matrim. Having just pulled an awesome ring with +1 parry, +2 dodge, +4 armor, and 2% SP drain for a total of 9% SP drain on Kincaid, I just scored a crit hit and pulled in 24 SP which made me gleeful. If I can get a slight different gear combination to get Selen on the draining bandwagon, I may be functionally independent of camping for the next stretch of the game well into Red Hill Keep, occasionally slinging a pot to Kjartan to keep CA going.

The 2b score was before the adjusted gold scoring rules. I think I'm sitting at just under 1.9 b right now. I started that group before SP drain hit the lower levels so it shouldnt be out of reach. |

Got a good stretch of playing in. Cleared episode 1 and no deaths.
Total score of 158 million. With the xp changes, I don't have a good sense of relative score and efficiency.
Now for a breather to rest before tackling the storerooms.
