As I use Selen a lot (but the new Tamilin is so good too, stop making decisions so hard TBs!) I am constantly thinking of ways she could be cooler. Well here it goes!
Steel and Shadow, buffs for 1 turn (no skill increases this), uses 8 AP
1. +12% critical, +8MP, increases AP consumption of ranged attacks by 6
2-9 some fancy numbers showing increases
10. +40% critical, +15MP, increases AP consumption of ranged attacks by 6
Ok, hear me out on this. The buff only lasts 1 turn and with the way you have combat set up that means you can only take advantage of this buff if you surprise the monsters (buffs run for a turn if you lose stealth so this buff would expire before you could use it). It uses 8 AP which makes it unusable in combat, check! Gives critical for some satisfyingly big hits in the opening round. Blocks out PS and normal ranged shots in the opening round so there is a cost associated with taking this talent (no opening round debuff/AE rain of death with PS). Lastly, huge MP boost to be able to move in, hit what you want to hit, and move back to safety. Possible applications: Move in and KILL! The most obvious and straight forward, be an awesome ninja stealth killer and then run back to Vraes to avoid the brutal retaliation (This is how everyone wants to play their rogue!). Debuff, Punishing Blades is strong but I find it hard to use as I tend to AE and rely on Selen to clean up after. If I use PB to debuff first then inevitably some of the monsters are left standing which Vincent dislikes. With this you can run in, conceivably PB 7 different targets to set up some awesome hits and then get out and let the AE death rain down on the same or next turn. This is also a way different flavour than Tamilin's stealth talent, which is refreshing.
Whatcha think?
